Well he started off popping Js until he realized how easy it was to back down Hickson, then used the same on the Manimal too, I guess he's getting it back little by little not TOO bad of a game.

Not a bad game except for when Mozgov lit him up for a few baskets... and got blocked twice.

25-12 for an aging C... I'll take it considering his recent struggles.

He played better than Kaman tonight. That's a plus in my book.

I can't defend Pau completely. I do think his body is breaking down. Bad feet make cowards of all. I also think MDA is playing him very heavy minutes, or is that my imagination? Seems Pau gets little rest.

Yet Kaman gets the ball in the post and takes it to the basket with energy. He makes a couple of moves, bangs with his body, and throws up a look. If Pau played with that energy he'd rack up 20 ppg.

He played a lot of minutes last night. He should be able to handle the load, injured or not.

He put up great number but shot terribly from the FT line and didn't have that great of a FG%.

Its a better game but we need Pau to be more efficient

Is he 100% healthy? It just seems like he has no jump in his step. Could it be that he's playing int game shape still?

According to the LA Times earlier this week he's been fighting a foot injury.

It would be nice if he could shoot at least 50% from the field.

Take away his dunk, tip in and layup and he shot 1-9 on non-gimmie shots.

I'm somewhat in denial about Pau. I can't escape the feeling in my gut that he would playing at a far better level under another coach. Also, some of his issues to be physical. remeber, he had that knee(?) procedure done over the summer, and maybe his conditioning isn't where it should be. But the downward trend in his play has occured across three seasons now, and even though were "explanations" for each one, one can't escape the fact that the numbers don't lie. Something is up with him

But I don't think MDA helps one bit. One can't deny that the offense being run is still PG and perimeter-centric.

I forgot how quick Pau used to be. Its funny cause it doesnt look like hes gained much weight since then, if any. Hes just 10 times slower nowadays, and gives 10 % of the effort he used to give.

I expect Pau can at least average 18 points per game for us with Kobe out, look like I am wrong. :man5:

I don't think that's an exaggeration. Pau's effort, especially on the defensive end, has took a nose dive. This year he's been one step away from protecting the basket and chooses the easy way out and steps the other way.

On offense it doesn't take much effort to jack up jumpers every 7 out of 10 shots either.

You don't think physically 10 times slower and 10 times less effort is an exaggeration? Come on. I'm not saying he hasn't fallen way off but those are silly estimates. At least be realistic. He gets rightfully slammed enough around here without taking it to those lengths. I'm sure OP was just making a point, not necessarily trying to really calculate it. Not a big deal.

past 3 yrs worth of disappointment and people still making excuses for this guy :freak2:, he's old, he's tired, he has nothing left to prove.....all things you dont want out of a guy thats suppose to be your #1 right now and when Kobe comes back he'll probably be even worse as he'll try less and less in hopes that Kobe will shoulder the load for him.

Well bleep. He's damned if he plays well or not. When he does he still gets hammered. The fan base here is in full hate on Pau mode and that kind of sucks. He's certainly more limited than he used to be, and maybe there ARE some physical things going on SOME TIMES, NOT ALWAYS GRANTED, when he looks like the effort isn't there. But there are a lot of other times he's clearly trying out there. Fact is he is still a quality player, a smart player and a team player and just not a whole lot of better options out there for us at the moment. That's what we have now, the moment, not what didn't happen back whenever people wanted him gone. He just played a nice game, I would hope he'd at least get props when due. Not constant bashing. If his shot was falling at a better % it would look a lot better for him. He still gets a lot of good looks.

Just think the hate is over the top. Now you can blast me for defending him…..whatever. We don't have effing options that are better at the moment.
