this could be an opportunity for Dwight to emerge and prove himself

Man, whatever scrub center they find as a replacement won't give us what Pau did during the winning streak. This season is cursed. We don't get one chance to find chemistry and keep building on it. Not one. Who's going to take the shots away from Kobe now? Who will Kobe pass to? Robert Sacre? :man10: :bang:

Just woke up from a nap only to hear these damn news. Just when Pau was taking championship form again this HAD to happen. Of course it did, Lakers have got to be cursed this season there's no other explanation for this. MY GOSH! Time to prove yourself Dwight, Shaq didn't have a Pau Gasol on his team...

Any chance we can trade for Royce White?
God knows Houston wants to ship him off to any takers
If the Lakers can handle Ron Ron they can handle Royce
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

I thought his big problem is he's afraid to fly? How would that change as a Laker?

No way. The kid can't handle traveling on planes and he's shown no intention of changing anytime soon.

Is this injury a blessing in disguise?

Dwight now will be forced to play through the shoulder.. He will become the 1st & only low post option... Clark will continue to get minutes... & Pau will still be a $19mil expiring next year.

Nothing against Pau... I love the guy.. But it's been obvious that it's time to move on & this may force the issue.

No. Deadline for injury exception was January 15th.

Been disappointed in Gasol the past 3 years. But this is still a blow to our playoffs hopes, Jordan Hill's injury really killed us.

I can't help but think some karma was thrown, especially in light of pau's recent comments about not accepting his bench role.

Laker's can't dwell on this too long however, if they want to continue salvaging the season.

Why can't people look at positives? :man3: This will emerge D12 as a more of a force and gives us a few options to add insurances via injury exception/small trade and it gives Clark more time to develop.... Gasol as good as he played the past few games was gonna become a shell of his former self when Howard eventually returned..... I believe small ball is gonna make this team dominate.

Thisx100. If Pau would have went down and J. Hill would have been healthy, this wouldn't have been an issued. With Earl Clark's emergence, you would have enough depth at the 4/5 to get by with because of the activity on rebounding & defense both Earl & Hill would have brought.

On the flipside, Earl would have never have gotten the opportunity to show us what he has if J. Hill would have never gotten hurt. Either way, this hurts us this year and our playoff chances going forward this year. No doubt about that.

Going forward though, with Earl playing well & J. Hill coming back, I think Pau is expendable during the summer...

A foot specialist outlined how long it takes for people plantar fasciitis after a tear. Bad news for Pau Gasol
“If it’s a one-thirds tear, within four to six weeks he should be okay,” said Dr. Robert Khorramian, a Santa Monica foot & ankle specialist. “If it’s a two-thirds tear, it would go much higher, possibly eight to 10 weeks. When there's over a two-thirds or a complete tear, we advise surgery. That takes 12 to 14 weeks.”
