What a great play at the end with the drive and dunk, hit a big jumper before that too, if only he would be that aggressive more we'd have nothing to complain about.

Said it in the gameday thread....

No one would say a word about Pau (At least I wouldn't), if he played like he did in his last two shot attempts of the game.

Went straight at Melo for the foul in the post and didn't back down, good results.

Took it straight to the hoop with authority with two hands, got fouled (no call) and threw it the eff down. Usually it's the one handed garbage.

He is still shaky but that play at the end was beautiful...cant remember him doing that at any point of a game in recent years, let alone to close out a game.

PAU SMASH at the end was amazing! Had his weak stretches but also his hustle & passion got him through the game.

Solid game, love Pau ever since he came back from resting!

Also, what's with him barely getting calls?

What Doc said... Gasol wanted the ball, wanted to be in the fourth quarter...then did SOMETHING about it.

When Pau is aggressive, we usually win. If that DUNK is the start of AGGRESSIVE Pau, we're going to be a tough team to beat. I jumped off the couch when he threw that down!!!!! Last time I saw Pau throw something down like that was in NBA2k10....

+1. Solid. The Scapegoat played well I thought. Never getting any foul calls other than that one on Melo, but I notice that Howard isn't either. It's like the refs are just letting the other teams have open season on our bigs in the post. I hate that.

I love when Pau is being aggressive. He doesn't have to do it every play because his passing will help Howard more than fans understand. However, he needs to take the ball quickly to the hole, take those open shots and force the defense to come to him so he can move the rock.

He is rounding in shape after being hurt... :jam2:
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Gasol also did NOT hesitate on that short face up J near the charity stripe when 24 found him from the baseline. Shades of 08-10...

That dunk was awesome. As others have said, it's a load of bs that he gets literally 0 love from the refs.
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

He was getting hammered at times with no calls coming from the refs, but that last minute dunk was really great to see. You could see how much it meant to him being out there in crunch time and contributing, hopefully it translates to the rest of the games this season.

Pau is still adjusting to his role. He doesn't get the attention from MDA as much as Phil due to the difference in philosophies. So the guy is trying to figure it out on his own because he wants to win. His outside shooting still sucks because there is no one pushing him to get in more practice throws. Let's hope what he is trying to put together on his own continues to grow.

In the post game interview, Dwight jokingly called Pau's dunk to seal the win a "submarine dunk".. because he stays low during his dunk.. in other words, he was clowning on Pau for not really having any hops :man10:
