Did anyone else notice that when Dwight is on the bench and Pau is playing the center position with Jamison at the PF, that Pau is still standing around the elbow/perimeter? The guy is complaining about not being given opportunities to post because he doesn't want to take up Dwight's space... but when Dwight isn't even on the floor, Pau should be 4 feet from the basket playing Dwight's role.

Wow. He'd even allow that conversation. I dont blame him, Pau hasn't given him many reasons to continue starting but I prefer he lets Pau stay in the starting lineup, he has some continuity with Kobe and MWP in there

i dont think he had a good gae at all offensively. was super passive and even what he was the center he didnt go in the paint once. he passed well...and thats pretty much it. It worked bc everyone else was shooting the 3 amazingly well. his D was bad in the paint and he couldnt rebound to save his life. i really think his knees are bothering him bc he had no lift today.

Overall he should be thankful jamison had an amazing game and guys like meeks jamison and duhon were hitting their shots off his passes.

He didnt have the offensive game so he did other things which is good. so i think his game was bad but it could have been worse imo

Pau played only 27 minutes tonight, Mike isn't give him much of a rope and deservedly so, we started out slow in that 3rd Q and he pulled him out for Jamison and we extended our lead back up again. Man I never thought Pau would become this bad. Amazing what has happened to our 3 bigs that helped us win a ring, Bynum may never play another NBA game again, Lamar looks like hes not even a D-League and Pau barely looks like an NBA level starter

Pau is making Jamison look like Dennis rodman in terms of hustle, mobility, defensive effort and rebounding.

So basically, he starts, but sits early, and Jamison (and Hill) take way more of his minutes (I'd play him around 32 a game). If he's doing well he should finish games.

Agreed. exactly what Dantoni did tonight. Jamison played well so Pau didnt need to play too much...but when he did, had some good shots but mostly was there for passing. Think he needs to get is A** in the paint when hes the center cmon man no excuses now

His minutes should be EXACTLY where they were tonight...at 27 minutes. He shouldn't be playing 36, 37 minutes in ANY game at this point. Pau's productivity declines after a certain amount of minutes on the floor...law of diminishing returns I guess. I think he needs to be playing the same amount of minutes that Duncan played last year...in the 28-30 minute range, ESPECIALLY with the depth we have at his position. No reason to see him out there for any more than that. Playoffs, I can understand 35+ minutes. But regular season, when you have a guy like Jamison...he needs to be out there for 25 minutes a game AT LEAST.

Mike D should also send Gasol home before the end of road trips.

27 mins is just about right. Did just enough to contribute, did less enough to minimize the damage

Van Gundy nailed it on the head during the game tonight. He made the comment that even when it was a Bynum/Pau front court, they didn't play too many minutes together but it was always Odom acting as the stretch 4 with Bynum/Odom or Pau/Odom...

This could work just as well with Jamison playing the Odom role. Like i said in my earlier post, it's looking like D'Antoni was trying to use this rotation but it's on Pau to get his butt in the paint when he's playing the center position.

I mean the minutes distribution would be something like

Dwight(34)/Pau(14)
Pau(14)/Jamison(26)/Hill(8)

This would keep Pau's minutes reasonable at the 28-30 mpg range and he'd supposed to be playing down in the low block half the time he's on the court anyway. If he can't do that with Dwght out, that's completely on him.

Pseudo-starter Pau :jam2:

When he gets run with the 2nd unit he's a facilitator at the C position... very few teams have that. In fact, his brother might be the only other player with that role.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

Liked the way he played tonight... this is the perfect game for him. He doesn't need to score... just make good decisions with ball, rebound, hit FT's. If he played some D, it's a bonus I guess. He's declined into a Lamar Odom of sorts... oh well. Happens to everyone.

It doesn't matter if Pau starts or not, as long as he plays and contributes to the team the way he did today I'm fine with it. He played 27 minutes and that was enough for a near triple double line that inculded 8 assists, that's incredible for a 7 footer. I loved seeing him with the 2nd unit. The guy is too valuable to us to trade. Is he worth 19mil? Probably not, but its not like we just signed him this year, he deserved that contract back when it was given to him. TEAM PAU :jam2:

I agree with you but I also believe he'll be traded after December 15th when many players will be available for trades. With Dwight getting back to 100% soon, I think Pau's minutes will diminish especially if Jamison keeps playing the way he is playing. Hill could fill in and is a lot cheaper. Plus, this team needs a few more pieces and right or wrong, Pau is a big trade chip that many teams would covet, e.g., Minnesota.

I agree especially with the tendonitis in his knees. Less minutes is better and more at C is better, too. Hill should pick up a few more of his minutes as well as Jamison.

I thought Pau played a good game last night. He was relatively active on D. He was closing in on a triple double in 27 minutes. He did a good job with his touches, not turning it over much, handing out a bunch of assists. And his shot distribution wasn't bad (from NBA.com):

He was decent on both ends.... still have a few Pppppppppppppppruuuuuuuuuuuuu moments but overall played a controlled and efficient game. Kobe was about the only one last night that didn't at least play up to "averages".....
