Yes. Aldridge is more durable, and can play both C/PF positions.

Not happening though.

Pau, if traded, will most likely be part of a multi-team trade. The teams that want to start over want cap relief and picks/youth. We have cap relief but no picks.

That's the only scenario that makes sense when you consider that (a) our head coach is a one trick pony whose system is limited to run and gun and (b) our starting PG is pushing 40.

I too believe we won't trade Pau unless we get a superstar in return.. But if it's a deadline deal & Pau is playing like a #2 on a contender, like he was during his 2nd-4th seasons here, he might just get it. But I would also be happy with a deal that nets us multiple pieces that would be upgrades & maybe even find a way to rid ourselves of Nash in the process.. Send him back to retire as a Sun. Pau & Nash for Dragic, Gortat, filler. Or a package built around Kemba Walker. I have a weird stance on Pau.. I think he can help us win this season & for the next couple, but I also think we can become a better team if we ship him out for the right deal. Rondo, Lillard, or Wall would be an absolute dream.

He really did have a good game, I'll take 15 points and 13 boards when he sat the whole 4th. He's never gonna be the old Pau, but he cares about being a Laker and I can always get behind that.

There were still some vintage Gasol moments. He's going to take more jump shots, but as long as they're in rhythm it's very different than before. The team did a good job of running through him which I'm proud of.

And the chemistry on this team seriously is amazing. For a veteran to say it's alright for the young bucks to finish the game... Not just a veteran but a hall of fame player. That's awesome.

^Yep, in the first quarter he got some nice looks in the post and I thought running the O through him was a great, sound way to start the game. We built a rhythm and started hitting shots.

Pau played well. He might still be getting in to game shape. Might explain why he started settling for jumpers. I think we will see a healthy dose of him in the post. Even just to start games.

I reckon Pau will return to his 2010 form once Kobe comes back. The defence focal point will shift from Pau/nash to Kobe

in backstage lakers gary vitti said that in his 30 years with the team, this team has the best chemistry hes ever seen. these young guys coming in really genuinely like eachother. we have a solid group of vets and young blood that mesh very well and really like eachother. seriousness and joking around are both there and they root for eeachother. in preseason and one game you can see it and its way different than last year. everyone is talking about it and its cool to see.

Farmar coming back, Pau being featured, young guys hungry and proving themeselves worthy, LA natives happy to wear the purp and gold, it all adds up to great chemistry and guys really wanting it. i love the attitude from eeveryone and genuine care for one another.

i'll take Vitti's word for it. Starters not playing the 4th is super cool and shows trust in the young guys to get it done.

Yeah but then someone asked Dan why he sat Gasol the whole 4th quarter and he said because he wanted to win the game. :man10:

I don't know how true this is, but D'Antoni tried to explain that more.

He said that at the time he made that comment, he was trying to be sarcastic with the reporter asking the question. Meaning he didn't like the reporter, so he gave him a snarky comment. Obviously he made the decision to sit Gasol because he thought it would help win the game, right? However true that was and whether or not he should have made that call is a different story... I don't know if I buy that completely, but it might have had something to do with it.

Yes I've heard that or read that too and kind of believe it as well. He is pretty open and flippant a lot, not always thinking of the ramifications of what comes flying out of his mouth. 180 from Philip. Have to say that had to be sweet for him tonight and I was happy for him.

I thought Pau looked really good out there tonight. He probably would have had big numbers had the bench not played so damn well.

I don't think he can (or should) play as many minutes as he did a few years ago, but he looked much quicker out there tonight.

I liked his effort on the glass .... he only gave up one offensive rebound if I remembered correctly .... ( to Eandre on a Ginger FT miss)

He kept us in the game in the 1st quarter
