3-17...that's atrocious. Hopefully he got that out of his system. Cause if that happens in the playoffs, very bad things will happen to this team.

I do appreciate him staying active on the boards, finding some way to contribute out there.

But he never gave up and never stopped working, so I can't hold it against him. It's a little disconcerting because I don't want this be a repeat of the 2011 playoffs, but I saw some good things in him too. He didn't stop FIGHTING, he just couldn't make a shot.

well back then it was like he wasn't even really trying AND he was missing

tonight i saw that he was trying, they just weren't going down. i'll chalk it up to a bad night.

a PF / C shooting 3 for 17 :man4:
I don't think he'll have another night like this again.

Liked his D (with a couple of exceptions) and his rebounding though.

The Kobe mentality - "dude, you missed your last 11 shots? that means your next one is DEFINITELY going in. Put 'em up!"

Yeah, he definitely struggled shooting the ball today. However, he did battle out there & give a lot of effort on both ends. I'm sure he'll bounce back. Just one of those nights...

Gawd, what a choke job by Gasol tonight.

Not very encouraging, considering the importance of this game.

Good thing others stepped up.

I expect him to bounce back from this terrible shooting game with great efficiency vs. Houston. He made alot of good moves & created some good shots for himself that he usually knocks down. Good effort just fix the shot & the twin towers will be dominating.

^^ Agreed. He couldn't throw a pea in the ocean last night, but nearly all of his shots were good looks and most just wouldn't go down. He got tapped on a number of them that went in and came out. 3 for 17 sounds horrendous but they were shots that he makes a high percentage of the time. It was not his night on offense for sure.

Nonetheless, his efforts on the boards and D were outstanding. 16 boards and 3 blocked shots and the guy was hustling. Defense was what won us the game and he was a big part of our effectiveness on that end.

Now make your shots next time Pau!

I do not expect to see a shooting performance like that from him 2 games in a row, those games happen, he just couldn't buy one. He was making nice moves, the shots were just too long, or going in and out, just one of those nights. Still though, he grabbed 16 boards and had the 3 blocks, he found other ways to be a factor in the game.

He came up small last night. His offense was atrocious and his D on Duncan wasn't much better down the stretch. He rebounded well and gave the effort.... results were lacking however.

He missed a lot of shots he used to make... but hasn't that been the case for 2 years now...

That said.... I don't think he'll shoot like that every night.

You could tell he was gassed in the 4Q... which lead to Duncan making some posters last night

considering Duncan is even older than Pau and still plays at the lvl he is, dude deserves more credit, his dedication is on par with Kobe and not to mention his sacrific with the pay cuts he's given SA over the years.

Duncan is the greatest to play his position and a top 10 player all time. That's why he's able to play at such a high level still

Kind of like Kobe was before the injury

It's because he was active and just outworked our guys. He wouldn't do that again. I think if that's the match-up tomorrow, it favors Pau for sure.

Pau Gasol Calls Out Brother Marc

From Eric Pincus at the Los Angeles Times:

"I told him to please go out there and compete and try to win the game," said Pau.

Did he get a positive response?

"He said, 'We'll see,' because last night they played the starters 24 minutes. They probably play the same the next game," said the Lakers' forward/center.
