Sure....Riles is still a Laker at heart. He would do that no problem. Wouldn't he? We're set...... :jam2:

As for the right price-wise, of course, I wasn't thinking of LBJ & Bosh. May sound foolish, but I'd target LBJ, Battier, and a random filler for the required salary. From that, you *can* get near-equal production in basketball production, plus a defender/3 point shooter which is what this team is lacking, somewhat. To have someone so dedicated on defense (think back to the revelation of Battier having almost an entire book on Kobe's tendencies), it sounded good to me to get him because this team has the fire power, just lacks a SF defender/shooter.

Even with what LeBron James is right now in the basketball world, he does not sell merchandise for LA like Kobe does. He just flat out doesn't. Kobe sells incredibly within the country, but even more incredibly internationally.

The money he brings in is far more than we can expect from any other player in the world right now. As for production, that's debatable. I still would not trade Kobe for LeBron straight up, but that's just my opinion.

I'd never trade Kobe, cuz it just wouldn't feel right.. But if he became unhappy & wanted out, LBJ + Bosh + Allen + filler for Kobe + Gasol + filler.. Would love to steal Chalmers too.

Not to mention, I doubt Laker fans would be too happy if the FO traded away the face of the team for someone that the national media insisted has always been better. I know I'd have to skip a few games if that happened.

So about Pau...........
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

That isn't a random thought it has been asked several times already..... All Lakers that go into the HOF get their Jersey in the rafters. I can't imagine Pau will be any different when its all said and done.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Pau wonders why he doesn't get playing time in the clutch?

Jordan HIll outplayed him in HALF the playing time tonight.

We actually made our comeback when Hill came into the game.

To think we had Chris Paul for this wuss (yes, I'm not going to let it go).

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

I said this the other day he needs to stop shooting threes. Then he gets blocked at the rim SMDH. He doesnt jump and contest shots when guards are coming at him. Just a piss poor game tonight from him

It took Pau 36 minutes to get 11 points and 9 boards....

It took Hill 8 minutes to get 8 points and 6 boards......

Pau is shooting 42% FG this season so far whereby Kobe is shooting 48% FG, just unacceptable from me.

Obviously the coach has instructed Pau to be the stretch 4. Just unreal that we have one of the most skilled post up players on this planet and he is relegated to shooting 3s.

How many times tonight did he have the ball at the free throw line or elbow and didn't make an aggressive move?

We can disagree about how skilled Pau is at this point in the post. Let's just suppose he's the most skilled post up player on the planet. He's just not effective at posting up any longer. He can't do it as regularly and as well as he used to be able to do. Putting him in the post doesn't mean easy buckets. It means misses.

True. This is not the Pau of his prime and he's alway getting pushed around but my problem is our whole offense. We should be going through our bigs and not clucking up shots. We lack an identity. And when players feel like we have one, it's easier to get motivated because they know what's expected. I think Pau has lost motivationnd for good reason. I mean he was already traded and was in talks of being traded again this year. He must feel unwanted and unappreciated. But the fact is, he's still one of the most skilled big men alive.
