Notice how the numbers are awesome inside and they get worse the farther out you go? Gasol is basically the opposite.

Bumping this so people can see that, Pau in the post =/= maximizing Pau.

i've been a backer of pau, but even i think it's time. this isn't because of his play specifically, but quite honestly, he's the only piece we can move (realistically) that can bring in some decent parts to plug in some gaps.

we need an athletic 3 (someone who can guard 1-3 for certain stretches), a backup PG, and some draft picks in return for pau.if we can unload either duhon or blake, even better.

this is underselling his value, but 1) no one is going to give the lakers a great deal 2) pau's value isn't very high anyway, due to contract and play

i dont think it's a matter of whether he's traded or not but rather is there anything decent they can get in return at this point

unfortunately i can't see them getting anything in return aside from a couple 2nd round picks and an above average player. everyone knows pau is clearly on the decline quick

Not sure if the laugh icon is because you're aware of this or not, but he's actually not shooting the three better. Last year he was at 29%. This year he's at 31%. His career average is 36.2%. I know it's a smaller sample size, but Pau's shooting 36.8% from three this year.

Really don't like Bargnani but I just want someone new, maybe hungrier and younger. Just throwing names around...Gasol just doesn't bring it anymore.

Two things about Bargnani that have never been said: "He's young and hungry for a Championship" :man10:

That kid blows. He doesn't belong on a Championship level team with the paycheck he's recieving.

Actually without looking at the numbers, I think Pau holds his own against Griffin. Any time Griffin tries to post him up, Gasol makes Griffin look stupid. At least as many times as I can remember...

Obviously boxing out isn't Gasol's strong point. And neither is athleticism. So any time those two things are on the table, look for Griffin's offensive foul of the year on Pau.

Obviously I haven't seen him much this year. But I think as a 4th option he can hit those wide open 3s, ala Ryan Anderson. But for the money we're sending out, I would hope for more then Bargnani.

Yeah the thing is mostly about money. I mean if we got him for 4 million or something (which is what he's actually worth) then I'd be fine with it. He's just a big body that is labeled a "scorer/shooter" because he shoots a TON.

But he's an awful rebounder, he's a terrible defender, and he's not going to out hustle the dudes pushing the sweat sticks around.

you're gona need a 3rd team involved if you want to get Ryan Anderson, NOH has no business wanting Pau on their team. Best case scenario is getting Minn involved and getting pieces like Dwill/Pek to entice Hornets.

When I watch Atlanta, I see Horford's impact on defense more than I see Smith's. On top of that Smith's outside shooting has always been sub par. We need somebody who can spread the floor better.

Smith is also unrealistic w/o a 3rd team, he's expiring contract younger so what would Atl want a old declining 20mill/yr Pau for?

His pick and roll defense is head and shoulders above Gasol. Him and Dwight would be pretty amazing together. Gasol alters a lot of shots with his length that Smith doesn't. A little bit of a tradeoff.

There's now way the Warriors disarm what they have created though, Pau for Lee crossed my mind too watching the game but it will never happen.

Pau can play like David Lee, he just doesn't give that type of effort but from skill point of view I didn't see ANYTHING Lee do that Pau couldn't do last nite.

David Lee is aggressive. SOmething that has being lacking with Pau for his entire career. Ever since Pau arrived in LA, the common theme with PJ and Kobe...."Pau needs to be aggressive". We've read it and heard it countless time.

Problem is this year, it's the same passive Pau, but also a physically diminished Pau. What we've seen this year and last....This is what you'll get more often than not.

He has the ability to, but he doesn't, that's the issue. Lee is actually aggressive in what he does, Pau isn't.
