Pau Thread: Surgery a success; now rehab & rest for 12 weeks

Hes shooting 44% from the field right now and he shot 3/10 tonight. Just horrible

It wasn't even P&R. They were ISOing THOMPSON on him and he beat him every time. People here were saying that he's a good man defender, not buying it anymore. Got killed by Lopez (he got blown by a bunch of times by that snail) last night except for a couple of plays at the end, and got destroyed tonight. He's too slow, too passive and too soft to help us on that end at all.

And he is still fumbling the ball (which leads to fast breaks the other way), missing free throws, and playing hot potato with the ball when he has even the smallest amount of pressure.

I would take Peck and D. Williams for him in a second. Nobody but Kahn will take his overpaid arsss.

Or sign Kenyon and bring Gasol off the bench, with Hill at the 4. But wow -- 19 million off the bench playing 15 minutes per game?

Cousins was like 1-7 and he goes to work on Pau...seriously that just made me want to throw the remote at the TV, how can you let a guy who has done jack all game abuse you like that you?

1 for 4 from the free throw line and numerous times just falling asleep in the pick and roll with Kobe that led to turnovers. It was probably one of the worst games hes played as a Laker

Trade Pau for being soft or lazy at times and it becomes a locker room notice that his lack of effort isn't acceptable. I also becomes a competition for the second captain and other non Kobe voice, and the next logical two are Ron and Dwight who play hard even when they don't get results.

If Pau was going hard and missing shots, being beat on boards, or scored on people could deal. When he doesn't try though because he knows he can sleep walk to stats it pisses people off. It also shows as we know his effort level from when he cares or doesn't, and this is what got him dealt from Kwame before and why he was never embraced like Zach or Marc in Memphis

He needs motivation to get on his job, that hasn't been there since he beat the soft label by beating Boston

It's not about missing or making shots, its about how he goes after the shots. It's about if he goes and seals his damn guy, posts up, is decide and tries to take over offensively.

Settling for jumpers, passing to Jordan Hill and Meeks or Morris when you are with the bench and the 20M player is inexcusable. Not boxing out is inexcusable, not moving his feet on D, not getting a hand up,

He's not gettin roasted while trying. He's getting roasted because he refuses to try t get in a defensive stance, put a body on a guy, and contest by ever leaving the floor. He is shooting so bad because he doesn't put in any work at all before the catch, no post position fighting, no second effort, no hard picks to jar Kobe or the ball handlers guy off them and he damn sure doesn't roll or pop hard and assertively.

Not good, just not good. Bad D, missing gimmes, not dunking when he could have.

I just feel the dude's legs are shot. Doesn't get the same lift anymore, doesn't try to post up. He just wants to take 15-20 ft. jumpers. I think the reason he looked so bad tonight was because it's a back to back and he just doesn't have it in him anymore. Only time he looks good is when he''s hitting his jumper or making those passes to Dwight. Is that worth 19 mil? What's the alternative?

While Pau is having troubles defensively and I've been one of his more vocal critics he's taking some heat tonight for a beyond crap game by Howard... Pau gave effort and failed.... Howard failed to give effort.....

When you are making 19 mil per, you can not have these kind of games on a regular basis. Pau might be playing his last two years in the NBA. He looks burnt out. I think after the first half of the 2010-11 season, he has pretty much hit the wall mentally.

^ what a joke. Cousins was 1 for 6 through 3Q and they put Pau on him and he scored 2 straight baskets when we were chopping our lead down. It sucked all our momentum away. SMDH

Pau didn't give effort. Dwight didn't either, he was outright stiff, which was bound to happen as the Lakers frisking coached sans Bernie don't get he wasn't supposed to be back for two months and was to have his minutes monitored. toronto sucks and needs some "star player"...we get...best pg rotation...similar player to jordan hill...and wery good 3pt shooting sf who can play strech pf...its not great but posible...and then try to dump blake or duhon for 2round pick...

We fore him to feed Jordan Hill in the low post? He took no shots the first 4 minutes of the 4th when he was out there with Meeks, Hill, Morris, and Duhon. That's on him. You could put Metta at PF with that unit and he would have more of a two way impact

Looks like we need a garbage sign for Pau, too... never thought this day would come.

He is fine offensively, its on defense where playing PF is the issue. He can not guard PFs.
