Pau Thread: Surgery a success; now rehab & rest for 12 weeks

Jamison's post game is just utterly bizarre... his little flip shots look ridiculous but go in at a fairly high rate. Gasol's was similar but much more refined.

Lol bizarre is a good word. When I watch Jamison a lot of times I'm like "wtf there's no way that's...Wow." Same thing when I watch Metta.

...dates back to North Carolina days. Both he and Gasol though have the pre-requisite for their type of back to the basket offense...touch. Not too many post men have it. Duncan comes immediately to mind.

The play last night, where Nash made the behind the back pass, if Pau went up with two hands on the ball instead of one, he would of had an easy and-1. But he went up with one, got minimal contact nowhere near his arms and lost the ball.

He fumbled the ball 2-3 times yesterday (costed Steve 2-3 assists ) What's up with Pau "Kwame's Hands" Gasol?

Yes he can. Go to the video and jump on 0:40 and watch slow motion, to me it look like Pau didn't even bring the ball up close to the rim, it just slipped on his way up.

^^^ Thanks for the video evidence, for my point, on why Pau needs to use two hands when going up with a dunk/layup.

Pau didn't look very good last night, seemed gassed from the beginning.

Pau usually does a good job finishing one handed jams and layups. It's just last night he couldn't make squat from anywhere. His shots weren't even close. I hope this is not a continuation of his playoff performance.

I don't think it's a pattern, because he was hitting his shots last time. It just wasn't his day, that's all.

I'm more tired of his lack of D than anything else ... sure he looked gassed but he picked where he left off these 2 latest seasons ... doesn't sprint back on D and gets outrun by the big he's guarding , no defensive rotations and weakside helps i.e his typical " shrug his shoulders" D ..

He was tired. They had practice for almost 3 hours THAT DAY. Brown clearly doesn't care about these games as a means of winning, he just uses them as extra practice sessions.

Gasol isn't in condition yet and he was gassed the entire game. He just looked a step slow. No big deal.

I think he just cares that little about these games. It's just another practice for him, so they basically ran two practices yesterday.

You could tell from the post game interviews that most of the guys weren't happy about it. Gasol particularly seemed annoyed.

I see more of the same from the last two year's playoffs. Trade him for Josh Smith.

I want to believe...but he makes it so hard

OMG!!! For us not having seen any of the games.....this long highlights clip is GOLDEN! Thank you so much. First real look for me at Nash in game mode as a Laker. Amazing to have him on this team. And holy bleep is Metta looking like he's Indiana Ron and ready to BALL this year. Wow he looks terrific! So glad he is still a Laker. Sacre for a rookie looks damn OK to me. Being around these great big men we have you can tell he is going to get better.

Pau will be fine now there's no trade rumours He has a Clear Head and if He can Get 17.7 ppg this year I'll Be Pleased.

its crazy to think he can so passive the entire first half and then all of a sudden come out and get 17 points.

if only he was more aggressive for the entire game he could have put up bigger numbers today. if hes making them why not keep taking them.

seriously hope he becomes more aggressive bc he has no trade excuses now.

Pau did better tonight.... that's about all I can say. He was looking to score in the third quarter and that is a good sign.....

Pau did look good int he third quarter offensively; he scored 14 points. However, when's he's on the floor with bench player anchoring that 2nd unit, he needs to be on the block more and attack. He can't be hesitant.

When he does that, life becomes a lot easier for everybody. For instance, there was a play where he had the ball on the left block and got doubled by Meeks' defender and as soon as Pau recognized it he passed it out and Meeks nailed the three-point shot. We need more of that.

He looked very good tonight. If he plays like that when our team is at full strength, we're going to win a lot of games.

Unfortunately this was a bad match-up for him. Athletic teams are going to give him trouble when they're allowed to tee off on him. Give us Dwight and Kobe and he'll get less attention and he'll look a lot better, which is scary for other teams.

i liked his 3rd quarter. especially his passes that ended with a 3 pointer.

if hes aggressive and gets going teams have to double him or do something different and then thats when his passing skills come into play. he cant look to pass EVERY time. He can score on almost anyone just bc of his skills in the paint and ability to hit midrange. hope that 3rd quarter got something going in him. maybe the team needs to have a players meeting just to get everyone on the same page as they should be.

Nash - shoot more its okay.
Kobe - Let Nash run the show towards the end of games if needed.
MWP - Do what youve been doing man.
Pau - be aggressive for the WHOLE game...teams cant stop you when you are and thus opens things up for our entire teams
Meeks - shoot that ball and attack the rim. improve that game before playoffs. you'll prob get fouled anyways so there you go...2 free points.
Dwight - get healthy and do your thang.
Hill - stay in the paint and do what you did last season. use that new shot of yours as last resort. rebounding energy in the paint is your bread and butter and why you got resigned.
Blake - shoot the open 3. always. you'll prob make it and if not Hill will get it
Ebanks - stay within yourself. rebound. defend. attack the rim. work more on 3's in practice

Good to see Shrugs still lost on defense and not taking it up strong on offense....

I liked his passing though.
