Do you also realize that he's playing the center position, and he's paying in the Triangle with a smaller and considerably faster lineup?

he plays center with the 2nd unit with a smaller and faster lineup for the last 2 years. I dont see him doing the things he did here

Josh Smith is the definition of a player NOT playing within himself ... jacking up shots he can't make during key moments of the game

As I said before , we should trade Pau ... pb is we have waited too long to do so .. I would be surprised if there still was a trade which would make this team better left out there .. I guess we only can hope Mitch to work his magic again

he just needs to be more aggressive with the unit hes the center in. when hes with Dwight he gives him more room, which is what he needs to dominate the paint, and Pau chills outside. He is still deadly there...he started 5/5. i think using that offense and then allowing Pau to play center with Jamison or Hill at PF and just spoon feed him until he learns to be assertive again

Pau played aggressive tonight.... he went toward the basket tonight and good things happened.

While he didn't rebound or defend well.... other than a few possessions neither did anyone else....

Yeah, I'm not really gonna get on Pau for not playing defense when apparently almost nobody is. 17 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, he's playing pretty well as a 3rd option if you ask me. Also got that 15,000th point, nice milestone for him.

I thought he played a very good balance of aggressive and patient, smart offense tonight.

His effort on defense (challenging shots, rotating aggressively/or at all, boxing out, rebounding) continues to be bad.

How many times per game are we going to see Howard barking at Gasol after a blown defensive assignment as Pau replies with his palms in the air?

Solid game overall. He hit those open shots, which is important.

Defense... players not named Dwight don't really play much. Pau is it that group, obviously. But it will get better.

good game. hitting those midrange is gunna be key for the starting lineup. gives dwight way more room too and it seems like hes always open for that shot. love it. glad he got 15,000 too and that kobe was the assist to him on it.

You have a point, but still you can't deny that Pau's been very passive and ineffective in many games so far this season, especially on D but also on O. He rarely posts up anymore, he hasn't been as agressive as he needs to be (except for certain stretches), he settles for Js instead of backing smaller players down and using his post moves and skillset, he hesitates, he looks to pass first when he's got great looks (again, with certain exceptions)... Shooting 40% with his level of skills and being 7 feet = pathetic.
On D he's just been awful, doesn't rotate fast enough (and sometimes not even at all), doesn't show effectively on P&R, doesn't box out enough, doesn't contest paint shots enough, etc, etc..

 Thank you!

Congratulations to Pau on his milestone! I'm really looking forward to seeing what Pau can do with a real coach and system once again (not casting any aspersions towards Bernie who is doing a fine job). I already like the chemistry on offense between Howard and Pau. Gasol is setting him up nicely and I think his passing is going to become a strong asset again. I think he and Howard are more complementary on that end than he and Bynum were.

Maybe it was by designed, pay attention to when both Dwight and Kobe are out of the game, he go down to the low post. He is not Metta, bone head forcing everything. Watch, eventually that will kill us on some of the more important games. I bet you if Pau is traded tomorrow to a team that give him first option, he will score in the 20s and be more aggressive. I think Pau is just playing the role he was given, if he wasn't, trust me Kobe will be all up in his business. I think Dwight will make Pau a better defender, I think he is used to playing the lazy defense, due to playing with Bynum a few years. lol

pau's offense was great

defense was outright terrible. i don't think a single rocket hesitated to attack the rim if pau was going to help on d. they knew their layups were gonna go in
