he's got to work on his conditioning getting up and down the court without getting too tired and also dunking with 2 hands. he used to drive and dunk more when he first got to La and needs to do that again with this system

That didn't happen.

Kings center DeMarcus Cousins beat Gasol on two consecutive drives in the second quarter. The Lakers forward looked frustrated after defensive breakdowns. And as coach Mike D'Antoni noted afterward, "Pau didn't have his legs" after logging 37 minutes.

Gasol took ownership of his shooting woes, but downplayed how his conditioning could fare in D'Antoni's fast-paced offense.

"I don't know if it's extremely physically demanding." Gasol said. "It's an offense that you have to move and have to be on the go and get to your spots run to your spots and find some good flow out there that we really haven't reached consistently. The offense will evolve and will be better."

Pau got beat down the floor a lot in the second half.... Howard got beat down the floor the entire game. Neither of these guys looked right from the beginning of that game. Pau I can somewhat understand with the offseason schedule and age but the lingering excuse for Howard is that he doesn't have his legs.... 12 games in and a preseason conditioning program and he still doesn't have his legs? He's only 26.

Our uptempo offense will only work if we have uptempo transition defense as well. Too many times the entire team is getting beat on transition defense. With the age/minutes/lack of bench/injury combinations we have this might be as good as we get for a while unfortunately. I thought we'd have issues through the first 20 or so but I wasn't expecting that we'd be back to a Kobe or nothing offense again on top of running our aging players into the ground and worse defense than last year....

Lakers should question Pau Gasol's minutes ... more Jamison and Hill at the 4 ...

I don't know why Pau's health and minutes aren't managed like Duncan ...

Bench players have to step up and contribute ... more minutes may help to get into a better rhythm .

Same pbs for 3 straight seasons and nothing is done to fix them

Knight is killing Pau but being truthful by saying h is avoiding contact and not putting in any work to find a rhythm.

Knight is right when he says Pau rather settle for a jump shot he keeps missing than put his head down and drive hard or turn around and bang relentlessly to he gets to the goal unlike Metta, Kobe, and Dwight.

Knight is right when he says Pau has to get going to better the chance of winning and also since he plays with 4 bench players at times and simply passes it around to them.

Knight needs to be Paus life coach the way he's calling him on all his ****

watching Pau right now and the problem is that he is just no longer a PF. He's a center. He needs a slower pace offense where he can anchor the offense.

His best baksetball has come in that position.

If he can be traded for either:

a) scoring small forward and a speedy 6th man type PG
b) stretch PF + atheltic wing off the bench

Howard/Jamison//Hill/Martin-- thats a good enough front court

It's pretty obvious Gasol doesn't take his commitment to the Lakers seriously.

His performance in The Olympics was all the evidence you need.

Alright, now D'Anotni knows Jamison can play the 4... it's time to cut Gasol's minutes. No more than 30 MPG for him. He's probably the most overpaid player in the NBA right now, but we have no way out. :man11:

at 2:18 left in the second Pau full on let Zbo come out of no where and steal a rebound. Embarassing..

Watching this game, Pau is the problem.

Dwight needs a stretch 4, Jamison is that. And no worries about matchups when Jamison starts. VS OKC it ewill pull Ibaka out of the lane and against Miami he can guard Battier or Lewis.

Silver lining in Nash's injury is that maybe Duhon and Morris gained some trade value. Maybe Pau and one of our point guards can net something.

There is no other player I've more consistently found myself thinking that he simply has to be moved. It's time to move Pau. He's rattled. He can't be productive like this.

But management said this roster was made for D'Antoni's offense.

Pau is struggling but so is Howard....coincidence? :freak2:
