Finishing out this season strong + becoming an expiring.. We may end up very happy we waited until next season to trade Pau.

Lakers are in a bit of a cross roads. The amnesty period is mid July, what if Dwight takes until like August to decide? If you have Dwight + Pau +Nash + Kobe's $30 mil we have to pay gigantic penalties. Im not sure if we'll find a taker for him at the draft either. He sounds like his foot is half way out the door already. I would just trade him now.

We're in kind of a cross roads

- We have to pay Dwight and Clark...which means we cant afford Pau
- And Pau knows this so maybe hes gone into "Andrew Bynum YOLO mode" since it really doesnt matter hes gone either way in 2013
- But if Dwight is gone then we need Pau has insurance
- But if Dwight makes his decision in like late July, we have to pay a roster of Clark, Kobe, Nash, Pau and Dwight and HUGE penalties for carrying that roster
- Amensty period is mid July, so right in the beginning of free agent period is possibly we can dump Pau for nothing...and he only goes to teams that have capspace like Milwaukee or Charlotte or Phoenix
- Whatever deal there is for Pau during February 21, 2013 trade deadline and at the NBA draft wont be as good as the deal coming in for Pau during the 2013 seasons

We're pretty much screwed. We have to win now and we need Pau to buy in. Or we need to make a trade for him now and get players (a Center) who can help us win now and provide cap flexibility moving forward

That CP3 veto really freakin screwed us over long term, we dropped salary in that trade AND added a Franchise player, we could've had so much flexibility. This year theres barely no margin for error and everybody is injured or have ego issues like Dwight or Pau.

i kinda like what portland did when there was a bunch of bickering amongst coaches and players: they just got rid of all of them. clean house. at the very least, i expect dantoni and pau to be gone by august (dantoni will be gone at season's end, i'm betting).

Unfortunately for all involved, I think Pau Gasol just bought his ticket out of town with his latest comments. I think both Jim and Jerry Buss have now given Mitch the green light on getting Pau Gasol out of a Lakers uniform.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pau was traded within the next 3-4 days.

D'Antoni is the cancer....and I'm shocked some are seeing it differently.

Pau needs to tear D'Antoni a new one. I completely support his comments in the TJ piece and its about time Pau starts giving his "bosses" some lip.

Bottomline: If Phil asked Pau to go to the bench, he would willingly do it. So why is Pau acting up when Mike is asking...cause the guy is a terrible coach and is destroying team morale with his asinine and ridiculing comments. I'm soooo over D'Antoni!

It's a lose-lose situation for the fans that dislike D'Antoni. Play better and make it into the playoffs? D'Antoni may be safe for a while longer. Don't make it into the playoffs? Well, it's the Lakers... they missed the playoffs? Really?

^^ You guys are playing into the media's hands right now. They love to continue the soap opera.

Yes, we SHOULD look at the timing of his comments. This interview was conducted BEFORE the current road trip, right after he got benched in the fourth quarter in a home game against NO. Simers is an LA Times writer who lives in town.

This is not news. This comes on the tail of his benching for the full fourth, which is something he didn't like. The media itself is responsible for the timing, not Pau.

Nonetheless, I'd love to have him shut up, too. I think since he played the fourth in the game against the Suns and he didn't help them get a win, that whole subject matter should be done with.

When Dwight is out, Pau is a good option at C. That much is understood. Pau still wants to play with D12 especially at the end of games. I get that. But it's up to the coach.

Nope. This interview happened just yesterday in New York, they both met at some coffee shop for the interview.

Real talk...everybody understands that other teams get up for the Lakers...we pretty much see every team's A game...but even with the injuries, there is enough talent and vet savvy on this team to avoid being sub .500 and abysmal away from Staples. Either you can have a great coach that earns you that extra 10-15 close game scenarios where the right play is drawn up and the right team concept is encouraged or you can have a coach that manages minutes and gets by relying on the talent of his roster. D'Antoni is none of those. Instead he has a roster in flux, where other players never feel stability and will be the 1st ones off the bench only to be stuck on the bench the following week. Then there are these chastising and sarcastic remarks he'll shoot at players, while completely ignoring that its his approach to the game and his ability to coach that needs to come into question. WTF is going on here?

This team should be dismantling the opposition right now. They already had the easier portion of their schedule and this Grammy road trip doesn't really sport an arduous task, yet you have a team that uses its talent to gain dominating leads, only to lose it cause the coach tries to get in the way.

You guys want to give D'Antoni credit for a 5-1 record haha. That should be happening against lesser talent and a softer schedule. What shouldn't be happening is for internal turmoil and the coach actually encouraging retaliatory remarks from one of his main cogs. But, I guess it's expected, cause this team has the talent to win in spite of their terrible coach.

D'Antoni needs to STFU and look in the mirror. Wasn't it him that said that any offense that couldn't use Pau in it, isn't much of an offense at all. Come correct, Mike.

Halftime...

Lakers are doing good, Gasol is ok, second roster is doing good as well, Sacre's a good value.

Havin' more shot chances than kobe is a good thing, keep it going.

We have NO REBOUND and a lot of TO but we r up by 9. Go Lakers :jam2:

He played alright, had some nice moves on O, but Lopez outplayed him all night IMO.
