Just out of curiosity of the people who were complaining why Paul didn't get any mins during the 4th. I have a question to ask you.
The Pelicans went with this line up in the 4th to get back in the game:
Vasquez
River
Gordon
Anderson
Lopez

Howard already picked up Lopez, can you be certainty that Paul can guard Ryan Anderson? He will LIT him up. You guys complained that MD doesn't make adjustment. He finally did last night, you guys still complain. I'm glad that he sat out last night. He and MWP will be fresh and pull big mins tonight game.

Peace came off the bench before, didn't play most of the 4th or end the game last night, I dont see him crying about it or mentioning it in any type of negative conatation like Pau is.

He and Metta looked stoked at the end of the game for the shot Nash hit...

And in his post game interview he seemed to be mostly smiles.

D'Antoni ran with what he considered the hot hand and I respect that. Phil did it on occasion. It's important for guys like Clark and Jamison to build and grow as teammates on this team. It's important for Metta and Pau to grow too.

I don't mind him being a little angry, but hey just shrug it off and say your piece to D'Antoni. Don't take it public and be a nuisance.

As for his game, how do you argue with 7/7/7 in less than 30 minutes? He played pretty well (besides that free throw missing stretch of course).

Come on you guys, calm down a bit. Jeezus. It's like any freaking thing Pau says or does just gets blown out of proportion on this board this year. I know some will yell hypocrite because I was so hard on him during Phil's last year, but that's because I couldn't wrap my ahead around a guy who just won a championship and was killing it with Spain turning into such a complete wuss before my eyes that season. It just didn't make any sense, and to this day there has been no good explanation (Vash - don't bring up the girlfriend thing or bystander will have a fit). There's no official or above board reason behind his poor play that year.

Anyway, I'm sorry but Pau should have been in at the end of the game instead of Jamison. I still have my doubts and concerns about D' Antoni's substitutions.

And again, it was reported that he said this as a direct response to a question. The guy wasn't happy being on the bench in crunch time and I don't blame him for that. Do you think any real competitor would be happy about that? He's not asking for a trade. He's not a cancer. He's still doing the job he's supposed to do.

Right now we're actually winning. So before you guys go ballistic about trading him and causing more turnover and possible turmoil, let's just see how we do on this road trip at least.

To me, we've found the winning formula with Pau coming off the bench. For the most part though I think he should be finishing games. Certainly over Jamison.

You know benching Pau was probably the best thing. The guy NEEDED to get pissed off. I mean he has played way better coming off the bench than starting, he is a lot more aggressive.

Agreed. He also needed his time limited out there because now he's more focused in those minutes instead of trying to coast for much of the game.

I have no problem with what Gasol said, if anything I'm glad he said it as we often complain about him looking like he doesn't give a s*** when he's out there. He never came out and complained, he was asked and responded with a true competitor's answer. I love it, and I also loved it when he was seemingly raging on himself for blowing those FTs during the game. Dude needs to get mad more often if you ask me.

Well him getting mad is what has made him effective again finally. Benching him was the best thing that's happened to him in the last 2 years.

I wonder if he understands that.

I did not see how Gasol reacted to the interview just read the comments. I figured he's usually more polite than how he's acting of late. Gasol wants to play and expects to figure into the victory so I can't fault him for that. Frustration can bubble then reach the surface but there are other ways to conduct yourself and work it out with the coaching staff. It's on him to understand developments during the game then come to grips with it. His situation is beginning to remind me of the Rice-Jackson relationship in 2000.

The only thing that I worry about if we did ever trade him is his ability to pass the ball, read the floor, and make the correct move way before he ever has the ball in his hands. Most of that stuff you can't teach, it's just great basketball instincts. Sure, it can be a double edged sword because his great passing makes him a little too unselfish at times, but for what we need of Pau his passing and Bball IQ would be missed.

Pau Gasol, like the rest of the team, is clicking on all cylinders now and as a 7' footer presents serious matchup problems for the rest of the league. Almost any other player they can reasonably expect to get for Gasol will be a production downgrade at this point. That includes players like Josh Smith, Calderon, etc.

If you can get Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Earl Clark to play together (as they are now)...it would be risky to mess a combination that is capable of winning Championships together. Oh...and throw in Kobe and Nash...two MVP first ballot Hall of Famers as your guards...LOL

He should be upset. I was upset that Dantoni left both Howard AND Jamison in for the entire 4th quarter. They got tired, and you could see it especially with Howard. Could have used Gasol for a stretch in that 4th. I hope he comes out and kills it tonight in Phoenix, as he will surely got 30+ minutes tonight since its a back to back.

Revolving door.

There's a reason he's not in at the end of games.....

Free throws and no defense.

But he got to play 37 minutes tonight, so he's happy as can be.
