Eric Goodwin, part of the Oakland-based firm owned by his twin brother Aaron Goodwin, said Payton expects to look at the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers and the Warriors.
Payton said late last month on Fox Sports Net TV that "anything's possible" with regard to his future, but indicated the Bucks will get first crack. Payton was traded to Milwaukee in February after spending 121/2 seasons with the Seattle SuperSonics.
"As everybody knows, my coach is George Karl. I've got to give him the opportunity to make their pitch for me in Milwaukee," Payton said. "Then I'm going to do whatever I feel is right for me. In my later years, I want to try to win a championship."...
...Eric Goodwin confirmed that the chance to win a championship is high on Payton's list of priorities, but said it's not his only concern.
"Quality of life is paramount," Goodwin said. "Gary has three children, and two of them can read every day about what their dad does. That's something that really influences him ... the city, the opportunity to win, what type of education and what type of friends his kids will have."
