Phil, thanks for all the memories. You coached with class and grace, I'll always remember your one liners, and interviews with Sager.

Thanks Phil for the 5 chamionships....while I do respect him as a coach I really didn't like his laid back attitude at times and the no TO crap, everybody always gives me guff about it and refute by using his rings as a counter. Well it cost us gm 1 of this series and has cost us plenty of other games over the years.

Thank you, Phil

No one in my lifetime will probably match your coaching legacy. Sorry the Lakers couldn't have sent you out better.

Phil

Absolutely the GOAT coach. Incredible. I've been dreading this. :man6:

I hope he just takes some time off then returns to get his 12th. Can't imagine these Lakers without him. Kobe with another coach? I don't know.

Thanks Phil. It is sad to see personal agendas from your team equate to a bad and a sub-par performance.

Phil, Thanks for the 5 rings. Much appreciated.

Phil has accomplished so much... and the sad thing is that he'll probably always be remembered for this meltdown. I can't imagine another Coach winning as many championships as he has. It will probably never happen again.

Thank you Phil, you are the greatest. Good luck, and please write at least one more book.

Time for a coaching change though. It's not going to be easy following in Phil's footsteps.

Phil wouldn't say certain players quit. Said their play was depressed, that they were daunted by the energy in the building.

Man, Phil's already referring to us as 'they' and 'the Lakers', it's really over, sad to see it become real and actually sink in. He also said it was a relief to be done this year, makes me think there was indeed turmoil in the locker room.
