The over the cap 2004-05 team was in the same boat but bad contracts do expire and we get flexibility. We have a plan always (as long as the old doctor lives, that is)

Right now I still have myself convinced they will go on a 30-6 run or something, but with every game that passes by I start to accept that they might just be bad enough to miss the playoffs. If that happens I think I give up Laker basketball for the rest of my life.
