Well, luckily .500 can still get us in the playoffs (up to 7th seed!), so we're only 3 games out.

I wonder at what point in the season will my delusions of grandeur finally set in and realize that the team might never turn things around. Right now I still have myself convinced they will go on a 30-6 run or something, but with every game that passes by I start to accept that they might just be bad enough to miss the playoffs. If that happens I think I give up Laker basketball for the rest of my life.

The over the cap 2004-05 team was in the same boat but bad contracts do expire and we get flexibility. We have a plan always (as long as the old doctor lives, that is)

Dude we have a $100 mil roster because we acquired players to win a championship NOW. We're not trying suffer through this season so we can build up to some plan in the future. This team was supposed to win now and instead they are free falling into a total disaster.

There are some seasons where you can expect mediocrity and tolerate it. This is NOT one of them

Let me say this, bring on OKC in the first round, as long as our 4 HOFers are all healthy

this minus the last sentence. i still feel like we will turn it around too but with every loss my optimism seems more and more like blind ignorance

this team is a freakin mess. there's no doubt they'll make the playoffs but it's a matter of whether it'll be a first or second round exit. that 2003 lakers team was 11-19 at one point and still made the playoffs with a roster 100x worse than this one
