Postby shaqass on Tue May 27, 2003 10:52 am

Hi!

it's the end of the season, time for the awards!!!!

Who do you think deserve the most the price of "Member of the year"???

Here are some proposals taken by the number of posts. Of course the number of posts doesn't mean anything, but I cannot give the 87 (!!!) members' names in the pool :man2: . So choose one in the list and if your favorite is not in the list then write me which one you want to pick.

PS the winner of this year will get a * beside her/his name because we didn't do a full year :man10: :man10: :man10:

the pool will run 15 days and the winner will be then displayed on www.clublakers.com

I have a question that I should be able to answer myself... does the poll remember who voted when you return, or is it possible to vote twice?

I might suggest having everyone write-in their votes as a response (must be registered user) so there is no duplication or voting for yourself.

...oh, and I know which of ya'll have duplicate accounts, so no cheating eh. :man1:

I see LakersGyrl2003... cool. I suppose the poll is good because it allows anonymous voting.

Rock on.

At the risk of sounding Kobe-Like, I feel it is unneccessary for me to win the MVM award, or member of the year, but I say we should expand these awards with trophies (I'll get them made and CL and I can decide the categories and time frames) but we must do a better job of voting for which 10 members make the final cut and with automatic statistical analysis of contributory prominence (how much a member contributes to the website on average and how many features and attractions they have had a part in as key factors) and a recap of their season so people can read the contributions made and decide who made the largest impact (via write in vote, anonymously via private messaging to CL who will keep your anonymity to himself) and thusly deserves the MVM and MOTY awards as well as all others. How do y'all feel about that?

PS - Ask CL, I came up with this idea about a month ago (but more power to shaqass for actually getting it moving)...the CL Awards...We can televise them when I get my TV program (our TV Program really) up and running...You guys only gave me 9% of the votes (and it was my own vote that was the only 1)...I feel like Kobe right now...no, he got 4, but it WAS way less than 9%...naw, he got more though, no vote for himself...but we SHOULD do this again, with each finalist (editorial and artwork contributors are auto entries) writing his or her own record of achievements this past CL season...

I understand what ur sayin, but he took the tyme to write out people he thought at the tyme. He said he's sorry for not puttin all the members names, so he basically put them off the top of his mind. It's a time situations, and yea, we can hold another one on a later date...

I think that others should write others' milestones. That way, the person who made certain milestones won't look wrong for doin so, u know?? It's better comin from someone else.

Yeah maybe the person being covered can work with the person doing their coverage and recap their season's accomplishments...

Don't feel bad, I built the damn site, and my dumb a$$ is still sitting on 0%. :man12: Heck, you are the only editorial writer that actually made the list... I can't wait for the LP blast... this could get brutal.

Ahhh CL, your wrong, I just noticed I was on there lol...

I don't care who the MVM is really...

In my opinion, people do their role, and the site runs great. Clublakers is obviously the MVP because if it wasn't for him, nothing would be possible here!
