Post Kobe: Pick a Star

In a post Kobe LA, what current NBA player would be your DREAM choice to bring in and lead the Lakers? This is more fantasy than reality, so contracts, etc aren't important. Just your one player you would love to see in P&G for the next decade or so.

Somebody posted a Kevin Love photoshop that got me thinking. I'm not sure if it's the best choice overall, but I really like that dude and his game.

+1

With Tony Parker as the PG

"Basketball reasons" is as believable coming from Mitch Kupchak as it was coming from David Stern. #IWantedPhil

Besides the obvious answers listed, ideally I'd love to see us draft someone who will carry on the greatness of this organization after Jerry passes away.

Magic 5 CHIPS
Kobe 5 CHIPS

Let's continue the tradition.

Absolutely hands down...LeBron James. Followed in second place by a Kyrie Irving or John Wall,( IF John could ever learn to shoot with the efficiency of a Steph Curry...it would be a no-brainer)! Add a motivated, healthy Dwight Howard to the mix, and that is just damn right frightening as a "Big 3" going forward.

Kevin Durant by a long shot.. Lebron's game won't age as well as Durant's.

Kyrie or Wall would be great if Dwight's still here..

I think Durant isn't even close to possible, and I think LeBron is a crazy long shot, but of course in a dream scenario it has to be one of them. In the more realistic realm I would say Kyrie Irving, he's on a rookie contract, I would assume it ends after 3 or 4 seasons, so he seems more realistic to me, and he's very young still. I love his game as well, he's fast, his handles are ridiculous, his shot is money, he's a solid passer, has a great all around game.

Get over it, we're not getting LeBron. I can see someone like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving though. Kevin is probably a long shot too, maybe Kyrie.

There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

I would love to get Kyrie Irving, but not by himself. He'd need another superstar to play with. He's one of my favorite players, he'll be a star for a lot of years barring injury.

He always has an injury of some sort.

i'd say lebron more than anyone but the chances he comes to LA are very slim, you never know though

realistically, i'd say kyrie. and i would LOVE to see him running the show in the purple and gold

And THIS is why other fans HATE Laker fans....

Here we are...making reservations for other star players...like it's a given. :man10: :man10:

And for the record, sign me up for Kyrie. :man12:

Easy. Kyrie Irving without a doubt. I absolutely love this kid. I have watched a good amount of Cavs games this year and his will, competitiveness, and confidence in himself is quite startling for only 20 year old player.

He actually reminds me of Kobe somewhat because he isn't ever afraid of the moment and has that absolute confidence in any shot he takes. I also love his demeanor and rather fun personality.

Kyrie Irving or LeBron

But Kyrie IMO is going to be the best player in the NBA at some point. If Kobe were a PG, he'd be Kyrie. Tough, confident, winner.

Ideally, pair Kyrie and K Love and Dwight
