Didn't know where else to post this, but they're showing game 1 of the 2001 Western Conference Semifinals on TWCSN right now, Lakers vs Queens, good stuff.

Doesn't pretty much everyone other than DirecTV have TWCSN by now? Anyway, this is some great basketball, 2 teams full of smart vets that played harder and IMO smarter than today's teams. Fisher especially was freakin awesome these playoffs, his return late in the season sparked our entire team if I remember right. Looking at the stats on basketball reference, some crazy numbers were put up that series, Kobe averaged 35 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, Shaq put up 33, 17, and 3 blocks, that is PER GAME stats, that team was insane. Fisher was the next player with 12 ppg, and then it takes a dive to Fox, Grant, Horry and Shaw, that team was pretty much all Kobe and Shaq on offense and the role players doing their job everywhere else.

Side note, ha ha Jon Barry on the Queens bench joking with his Queens teammates, no wonder he hates us.

Those Kings teams were the s*** back then, yea they are the Queens and they are turds, but it's hard to believe that they wouldn't have won some hardware if we didn't rip out their hearts every year.

When was the last time the Lakers screwed up coaching hires in back to back years? Brown, instead of Adelman. Dantoni instead of PJ. ---> tba i guess.....

It wasn't until January that the team really started winning games consistently. Kind of gives me hope for the circus that has been this season so far.

He hit 9 3s in a half and 12 in a game against Seattle and he had that awesome behind the back reverse dunk against the Nuggets off a touchdown pass from Robert Horry or someone. Averaged 40 ppg for a month in January or something like that while he carried Fat Boy Shaq to the playoffs.

I think that trying to replace PJ has proven...um...difficult. Every time we've tried it.

Sadly we played 10x better under Bicks. Would have been 5-0 had it not been for that Danny Green 3 pt game winner.

They're showing the Lakers 2001 Championship video on TWCSN right now, great to re-live, that team was a monster. Man I loved that team, Shaq, Kobe, Fish, Grant, Fox, Horry, Shaw, Harper, even Lue and Madsen.
