Pau should have won the MVP for the finals that year, seriously, just for what he did to Dwight. Dwight single handedly destroyed Cleveland in the previous series, and Pau not only contained Dwight, he dominated him in that series.

I've never really thought about it until now, but the Harden trade did help us match up with OKC better. The problem last year was, if OKC went with the Westbrook/Harden/Durant/Ibaka/Perkins lineup and we went with the Sessions/Kobe/MWP/Gasol/Bynum lineup, there would be a horrible mismatch for OKC to take advantage of in the PG or SG position depending on who Kobe WASN'T guarding. If Sessions was on Westbrook, that was trouble. If Sessions was on Harden, that's even worse.

Now, we can go with Kobe on Westbrook and put Nash on Martin. Martin is obviously bigger and taller than Nash, but he's mostly a jump shooter and I think Nash can do a decent job in contesting his shot. It's certainly not as big a mismatch as last season.

And on top of that, we have a mismatch we can take advantage of much like OKC had last year. Who does Martin guard? Nash? LOL. Kobe? LOL. MWP? LOL. That's going to be a problem for OKC. How will they hide Martin on D? MWP would school him in the post and overpower him like it's nothing.

This will definitely be interesting.

LOL no. Pau played great, but Kobe was CLEARLY the best player and the MVP not even debatable.

Pau took a dump on Dwight on both ends of the floor that year. It's definitely arguable that Pau should have won MVP that year. I don't necessarily agree, but I can see why people would make an argument. It is definitely debatable.

Kobe scored 32.4 ppg 5.6 rbnds 7.4 asts with 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks.

The dude was unstoppable in the series no matter who they put on him. He was clearly the MVP.

Also, I'm sorry, but saying Dwight "single handedly destroyed Cleveland in the previous series" is very far from the truth. A lot of guys came up huge in that series, even Rafer Alston. Turkoglu was absolutely key, and same thing with Rashard Lewis.

Howard had a lot of foul trouble also, and Gortat did a decent job when Dwight had to sit down.

Sure, Dwight was the best player of that team, but he had some good company.

Somehow this team continues needing wake up calls? All the damn talent on this roster and they still can't bring it every night?

These next 5 games are either going to be a ton of fun or are going to be 4 blowout losses and 1 loss.

As much heat as everyone in the organization is taking, absolutely no one has got to feel worse about this mess of a season than the Buss family. You can assign blame anywhere you see fit but in the end someone paid 130 mil for this garbage season and that's the bottom line. As a fan, I can only hope that there is someone in that family with the common sense to see that Jim is running the franchise into the ground with his poor decision making. It certainly isn't going to be Jim who sees that and swallows his pride. Men like him go down with the ship or give up and cash out. Which I think will be the most likely future of this franchise. Eventually his mistakes/failures will be too much to overcome, even wish lush t.v. deals. Add in the predictable family infighting and bad PR and the Buss family will eventually give up and sell.

It's just all too rare that the children of visionary, trailblazing men have the same drive, work ethic, and hunger as their father who handed them the family fortune. We had a great run with Jerry Buss. An absolutely incredible run. Probably hoping and expecting too much to think Jim could carry on his father's legacy.

I don't think it is real actually because I never remember during the TNT broadcast that long of a silence between Reggie and Kevin talking where I could hear the fans clearly enough.

I was hearing people in the crowd yelling during the broadcast though, sometimes they sounded a lot like this guy in the video, so I assumed that they somehow edited out the broadcasters voices and amplified this guy. I assume that's possible with modern technology, no?
