We didn’t trade for the sake of exploiting a player in their last year.

“How did my father feel about the Lakers? No comment. They’re a great franchise, clearly. I think the Celtics are more of a unique organization that attracted a certain player. We had so many players who started and finished their careers in Boston. We didn’t trade for the sake of exploiting a player in their last year. The times are different. The Celtics are a classy organization. My dad knew everyone’s kids, where they were [after retirement], where they were working. They mean a lot to him. They were a real sense of family.”

I can't say he's wrong about the Celtics in the past, but Ray Allen, KG, Cassell, Antoine Walker, etc. are / were all being "exploited" in the latter stages of their career.
It's nice to see you take care of your own, too...

Not saying the Lakers are a perfect org, but they did saved Turiaf's life by detecting his heart defect and paying for the surgery out of pocket.
“It was painful,” Lakers forward Pau Gasol said.“It is a feeling that I want to keep in my mind for every single minute that I’m out there playing them.”

Class act, no doubt.

Well then it all makes sense. They don't have TV's on a stove.

Red Auerbach and the Lakers' Phil Jackson are tied for the most NBA championships by a coach, with nine. All of Auerbach's titles were won with the Celtics. Jackson has won six with Chicago and three with the Lakers.
The Celtics temporarily prevented Jackson from passing Auerbach on the career wins list by winning in Los Angeles, 110-91, last Dec. 30. And by defeating the Lakers for the ninth time in 11 Finals matchups, they would stop him from surpassing Auerbach in NBA titles.
So how does Jackson compare with Auerbach?
"No comment," Randy Auerbach said. "I think that says it all. This is not any reflection on Phil, per se, but I resent the comparison.
"[Jackson] has been with two different teams. Two different circumstances. That's not to take anything away from him. But you can't compare the two. Or, at least I can't.
"I prefer [Jackson] not [pass Red]. He didn't have eight consecutive titles with one team. Someone needs to point that out.
"He's had great success. But it's completely different."
