Not sure. They'd be crazy if they weren't, I suppose.

He was pretty solid, you're right. There's not many other options out there I'm afraid.

I'm trying to find some kids out there that are young and coming off of either some tough minutes issues or something like that. Just kids who haven't had a chance to shine. Those are the kids we should be after right now.

Nevermind, he already re-signed with a 3 year deal. Oops, my bad.

I feel us inching ever closer to bringing Morris back as 3rd string PG. :hurl:

Please tell me there is still a chance at Farmar. Last I read here he couldn't get out of his contract overseas.

Well then we have to so something else, Sasha, Rodrigue Beaubois, Toney Douglas, something, anything.

Do you check your PMS?

I sent you a link to reopen the Farmar thread about his team waving his buyout because they don't want to pay his salary.

beaubois is an interesting name on that list, imo. he gets hurt a lot and isn't much of a defender, but he's young and athletic and can put the ball in the basket. the lakers haven't had a player like that in a while. I think they need to go all-athlete with all their cheap FA pickups. I don't care if they've been crap thus far, take athletic guys and hope one or two work out.

There is no realistic free agents target for us, we will not sign any solid player for the next season, the Lakers already set their mindset and going for the #1 pick in the next year deep draft.

Magic Johnson : "Put me with Kareem, James Worthy, Cooper and Byron Scott, and we'd dominate your Bulls team"

Even if Kobe isn't back until early December, I don't see this team being in the lottery. If that's truly the goal we'll see a big salary dump, likely with Gasol getting amnestied and trading away players with any value (like Jordan Hill). Until that happens I think they're still hoping to make the playoffs - though it's more likely they just miss it.

I wouldn't mind Diop, those other lists made me nervous a little so I skipped it, but one thing I mentioned last season was the desperate need of some outside shooters. I wouldn't mind one of these guys from the list of shooting guards. Our shooters last season was too inconsistent.

well, one of the best off seasons resulted in one of the worst regular seasons. so logic dictates that this tepid offseason will lead to a pretty good regular season! :man10:

I think we might be waiting on teams to amnesty some players and we might fill the roster up with those kinds...Heat expecting to amnesty Mike Miller, Charlotte- Tyrus Thomas (Athletic 4 worth taking a flyer on), Detroit - Charlie Villanueva, Bucks- Drew Gooden, Kings - John Salmons, Raptors - Kleiza, Hornets - Jason Smith

Got to remember teams under the Tax Threshold have first dibs on these players.

Kaman / Farmar / Young / Johnson

This thread is for realistic free agents right? :man12:

I'm tinkled pink, pleased as punch and thrilled to DEATH to admit I was wrong about who we could get. Turns out the lure of playing with Kobe/Pau/Nash in LA is a lot more valuable than Dwightey poo wants to admit. Seems like our Dwightmare karma is lifting...I am actually pretty excited about next season now.

Nick Young can average 15-17 points in 35+ next to Kobe/Nash/Pau, especially if we have Odom and Hill manning the PF spots for defense and rebounding. COME BACK ODOM, with Kobe "VERY FAR AHEAD" of his rehab schedule, (saying he wants to get to full contact training in mid AUGUST) we are actually sleeper contenders now I think..well, with you back in the fold and everyone healthy that is.

We should just round out the roster with Sasha and Lamar and field our current roster.

PG: Nash / Farmar / Blake
SG: Kobe / Vujacic / Meeks
SF: Young / Johnson
PF: Odom / Hill / Kelly
C: Gasol / Kaman / Sacre

Honestly, that team is definitely playoffs...maybe even (depending on Wes and Young improving and working hard and Odom resurging) can get to the WCF...
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.

I like the off-season additions, I like the optimism, but...

Yeah, I feel like optimistically with this all offense, no defense team we have assembled we will be more fun to watch than last season, and I'm glad we have guys here that really want to be here, but I feel like we'll be fighting for the 7th/8th seed again. Thunder, Spurs, Clippers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Rockets all probably better than us IMO, only the Nuggets got worse, and the Pelicans got better too.
