Who would have thought? As it stands today, our Lakers are 15-17, good for 11th in the Western Conference & 2 games back from the playoffs (7th & 8th seed). Our season-long struggles seem to have no immunity, even with Nash back at the point.
My question to you all today is, realistically, how far can this team go in the playoffs...if we make the playoffs that is?
Do you see our team as a first round exit? Second round? WCF? Finals?
I want you to look at this team, not with your heart, but your non-bias & most realistic opinion.

How far can this team go this season, realistically?

UPDATE: WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS! We have taken the 7th seed & now are taking on the San Antonio Spurs! No Kobe, perhaps no Nash, what are our chances? Let me hear it fellas!

I think it all depends on who will we play in first round....
If we can win, maybe we can build self confidence for longer run, but with this team, you can't even predict anything...

My thoughts exactly. I believe we can definitely compete given how much time there is from now until April. The thing is, I cannot put my finger on this team, I just can't. Whether we play the Bobcats, Raptors, Cavaliers Heat, Thunder, Clippers, etc I never know what to expect. This team lacks identity perhaps more than any other team I have ever seen. It is so hard to say we are winning this game or we are losing this game, that to me is extremely frustrating. You never know when the energy will be there.

Right now we are, at most, a 2nd round exit waiting to happen.

not looking so good, but I do think we'll find a couple big stretchs that land us in the playoffs. Hopefully, GS plays out of their minds gets the 3rd seed and we get the 6.

Not looking good. We'll have to expend so much energy just to get to the playoffs. With our old legs, won't have much left in the tank once we get there. We'll get run out of the building in the first round.

Doubt we make the playoffs. Hopefully this will bring change. Coach, PF, bench, etc.

The way the Lakers are playing right now, of course we won't make the playoffs. But there's no way this Lakers team is gonna keep playing this bad rest of the season. Once we are in the playoffs, I really like our chances going all the way to the finals.

Do you realize the team can be 6 games under .500 within a week?

I think we can make the playoffs...barely, but the way this team is constructed their chances are slim and none and slim is about to leave the building. It's evident now a trade is needed and who needs to go. If we can get some pieces that will compete every night and give the effort needed, I'll like their chances better.

Do you feel more or less confident in this prediction, than the one where you said 60 games no doubt? Haha.

What exactly makes you think this team is a contender? They have shown nothing to indicate they are, other than the names on the back of their jerseys.

You think Kobe can do this every year for the rest of his life? He's a fraction of his younger self which should tell you how ridiculously amazing he was then. Remember, he played defense then too.

To be fair to him, he adjusted his previous prediction of a 60-win season with no doubt in his mind.

I guess it's 10-game adjustments at a time =)

Realistically, best case scenario IF the team starts to gel like NOW, 2nd round exit because it's too late to get good seeding. A miracle happens, we make the WCF and yet again lose to the Thunder (if that's even possible based on seeding and we don't see them in the 1st round).

i'll reserve judgment until after tomorrow's game. if this team can't show up to beat denver at home after they preened and pranced all over them last week, they lack heart, balls, or both, and i'll predict they miss the playoffs.

a win won't be diagnostic.

yea I see people with this next game that next gamethen we see Phi game, Clev game, etc. gut check time blah blah, all these garbage cliches' same old results.
