So...... I don't follow the college game that closely these days.... Of the top 6 who's the busts? The best draft ever had 3 busts in the top 6. So who of these guys everyone sees as the top 6 are the busts?

The NBA draft is such a crapshoot as there is little history at a high level of competition for these guys as almost all of them are one and done these days. It seems that the criteria is athleticism and potential rather than a proven track record.

I just don't see Exum moving ahead of Parker and probably even Randle (unless we are picking 4th). Parker may go #1 overall or maybe he goes 2. No matter what, he is not falling past 3.

I think it's more of Parker's stock dipping because he has been getting criticized more than usual these last 2 weeks on his defense. Also as the week goes on, good players with higher potentials i.e. Embiid, Wiggins, Exum will be valued more so than NBA ready players i.e. Parker, Randle, Smart.

The source said at this point, five teams—most in the Eastern Conference—"want to make a play" for Monroe this summer. "It will just come down to money in the end," the source said. It's going to depend on the draft. Whoever gets Embiid, will probably go after Stephenson. Whoever gets Parker/Wiggins, will go after Monroe.

Of the top six? Julius Randle has a ton of hype but even from the first game I saw he looks like a prototypical bust. Average to below average size, limited athleticism, and a below the rim game. He has a nice touch, great strength, and decent footwork. But I would be very disappointed if he was all we ended up with after this awful season. He'll probably be a solid NBA player, but he's by no means a franchise changing player. Worst case scenario is that he'll end up like the recent string of undersize PF busts(Robinson, Beasley, #Bewell, Williams, Bennet). Probable: Paul Millsap. Ceiling: Zach Randolph

I've said before that Wiggins gives me a Rudy Gay/Harrison Barnes vibe due to his attitude. It's not that he's a punk or a head case, he just doesn't seem to look dialed in 100% of the time, can be lackadaisical at times, and settle for jumpers. Now, he can become a star, but if you ask me, I have my doubts about him.

Exum is intriguing, but far from a sure thing IMO. He's slashing point forward who at the moment lacks NBA level explosiveness. He's fast, has good size, and he can see the floor very well. But he has to get stronger, and develop his long range game if he wants to live up to the hype. In the end, I think it all comes down to his work ethic, and drive.

Honestly I don't know why ESPN has Embiid at # 1 because I remember hearing that he is seriously considering staying in college for at least another year. Now I don't know if this has recently changed but if so its really bad news for us because it then pushes the Wiggins, Parker, and Exum up a little higher.

With the orders coming down from the front office, combined with holding out our better players...

It's clear we're on the full tank mode. I think we're on our way to the 3rd worst record in the League. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if we're in the conversation for 2nd before it's all said and done.

Coming up-
Kings, @ Blazers, Pelicans, Clippers, @ Nuggets, Thunder, @ Thunder, @ Spurs, Spurs (who thought those 4 games would be fair?), Wizards, Magic, Knicks, @ Bucks, @ Wolves, Suns

I can see us going 4-11.

Unfortunately the Sixers are going to face a tough challenge too over the next 15 games.

Yup, doesn't look like we're gonna win much, but neither is Philly in all likelihood. I think it's a race for third at this point.

Next month is pretty bad but we actually have a winnable stretch. Wizards, Magic, Knicks at home. At Milwaukee and Minnesota. Vs the Suns at home.

April is when it gets worse. Blazers, Kings, Mavs, Clippers, Rockets, Warriors, Grizzlies, @Utah (Backtoback), @ Spurs. Hopefully we lose that Kings game and we will fall way down in the standings to end the season. Thankfully we get a long stretch of games against playoff teams to end the season.

Top 3 pick here we come.

Wiggins :man9:
Embiid :man4:
Parker :man13:

Like I said when a couple people were mad we beat the Cavs, Sixers, and then Celtics later on, why get mad over one win every bunch of games or to teams even worse than us. The losing will continue, a few wins aren't going to kill us by the end of the season, we will end up with a bottom 3 to 5 record.

He's considering it, but he would be dumb not to when you're projected to be the the #1 pick and forgo all of the guaranteed money he'd receive as a first round pick. Risk staying in college and somehow getting injured. What's the difference of getting injured in college vs. NBA? Your draft stock plummets and you don't have the same professional training staff that an NBA team has.

Wiggins was also rumored to want to stay another year, but again for the same reasons, it would be stupid for him.

The college game isn't what it used to be three decades ago where it was beneficial to stay in college past your draft. The competition has moved to the NBA early so there's not much focus on the NCAA level.

it's bad for the player as a risk, but how is this better for a team? nothing hurts a team more than using a lottery pick on someone who is injury prone and managed to squeak through a year of college bball only to get injured at the pro level.

you can't predict injuries or make that a sole excuse as to why someone should go for the nba draft imo. yes, go ahead and make the argument that he would lose out on millions of dollars, blah blah blah blah. is that going to make you feel better after the lakers use a draft pick on that same player?

it's also hilarious how many ppl are saying no to college when the only thing you hear about guys like damian lillard are how they are going to get better in this league. everyone seems to forget that dame went to college for FOUR years. hibbert already stated that he wouldn't be here today if he hadn't stayed at georgetown.
