Spurned in their pursuit of free-agent center Alonzo Mourning, the Dallas Mavericks have contacted free-agent forward Robert Horry twice in the last few days, a source has told ESPN's David Aldridge.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Horry's team the past six seasons, still have hopes of re-signing Horry even though they declined to pick up the option for his $5.3 million salary for the 2003-04 season. The team's decision made Horry a free agent in the first place.

Yeah, I thought that the lakers were trying to re-sign rob also. That they first wanted to free up as much money as they could to get malone and gp. Horry already has five rings, I'm sure he would like a sixth.
Buckle up! This off season is going to be some ride...

See I feel the same way, if Malone can take a 17 million dollar paycut, why can't Horry for a couple million? Not to mention the fact that you know Big Rob doesn't want to miss this oppertunity to run with this squad. So we'll see what happens.

I hope Rob come back too! I dont think he "money hungry" I think he just want to be closer to his family and daughter who is very sick. I think this pass season was rough on him and that missed 3-pointer against the Spurs I think broke his heart. I hope he wants to run with the Lakers for @least one more year and get a sixth ring.

Come back Rob!

I recall reading somewhere that Horry didn't mind what the lakers  did as long as they brought in damn good talent. Well, they did, so I don't think Horry is upset at all. Besides, he has to redeem himself so clublakers :jam2: can have a new intro!!!

Now that we have Malone and GP, I think Horry wouldn't wanna miss the opportunity to play for another title to add to his collection. He aint money hungry but he did say he could get millions elsewhere, and I do understand that he wants to be closer to his family. I already accepted the fact that he may not come back, but if he wants to, then I'll be excited!!!

Hell Yeah, I would be excited too! I like Horry. I woulden't want to see him play with no other team but us or Houston. Why doesn't he move his family to LA?

I also want him back with the lakers next season. there's no other player that you can really compare with horry. he defends, he pokes the ball away from his opponent in the post like no other!! he can hit the three, great in bound passer, just an all around savy player!

Ohh, that would make sense, but L.A. has pretty much has everything a person would need. Then again, you always want the best for your kids and perhaps he found the best in Houston.

Yes, his daughter has some rare disease if I recall what I read about a year ago right...

If someone can, research what his daughter has, and post some information on it. Thanks...

Robert Horry's daughter, Ashlyn, has a chromosome disorder. I believe she is missing part of her first chromosome. She is unable to talk, eat, or walk on her own. "Ashlyn has a neurological syndrome that mimics cerebral palsy."
