And if we could package Blake/Ebanks for a better point guard because some other teams like Ebanks' potential I'd do that in an instant. Partly because Blake isn't good, but also because like you said Douglas-Roberts can provide a nice scoring punch.

Weezy wrote:Yeah, I think you were right realdeal, it's looking like he's going to make the team and really like he can hang in the NBA. It's only 2 games and Nash is making him look good, but the real reason I think he makes it is he's tall, strong, and has a nice touch around the hoop. If you have a 7 footer that's garbage with the ball he has to make up for it on D, but Sacre has a nice hook shot and he makes his free throws, which shows me he's not just playing because he's tall like I first thought, but he has actual skill. Making free throws isn't a big deal, but its a bigger deal when a 7 footer can do it IMO because it shows they can shoot, and a lot really can't.
I'm rooting for him realdeal, he's grown on me, you can tell he works hard, and I loved that video of him and Dwight battling hard in the post in practice. We might not think much of what goes on in practice mattering in games but it does, Dwight having a large dude to not go easy on him in practice is very good, just like DJ was good for that when he was here. Lastly I admit I'm not a great judge of talent a lot of the time, I have no problem admitting that, I thought Crittenton was going to be good for us and that Drew would never be that good after his first few seasons.

Pau Gasol on his locker neighbor Sacre: “He’s playing really well. He’s worked really hard and he’s really been helping us.”

You'd expect any 60th pick to work his tail off in any preseason burn, because that's what 60th picks are supposed to do. Sacre definitely does just that, and over 27 minutes Saturday it paid off in the form of 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive end. He hit the floor in pursuit of loose balls (it's a long way to the ground for a 7-footer), and did his best getting up and down the floor. But Sacre isn't just hustle. The activity comes with purpose. On multiple occasions he went high on the perimeter defensively in pick-and-roll coverage, and also rotated well defending the basket, including a Sacreblock! (patent pending) on Al Jefferson in the third quarter. Offensively, when he rolled to the bucket on P-n-R sets, he did so assertively, and also tossed in some nice post moves on the block.
He still has plenty to learn -- avoiding fouls (he picked up his sixth with 10:22 left in the fourth) and playing defense while staying on the floor, for example -- but overall Sacre looked like a guy who belongs in the NBA. Whether it's with the Lakers remains to be seen, but he's certainly not hurting his chances. Nine points, 10 rebounds, three blocks.
