Robert Sacre Discussion: Snoop, DMX, Tyson on his side (13)

He is one hell of a cheerleader but I think it's pretty funny if the Lakers did indeed offer him a three year deal. :man10:

Read the rumor about it being a multi-year deal from a couple of people on twitter. I don't get it. It's not like teams are lining up around the block to sign him. He'd be available for the minimum next summer, just as he was this summer. I want every possible dollar available for max slots.

Sacre seems to offer just about nothing that would make him move above the 11th roster spot on any NBA team. I like his attitude, but he doesn't even seem to have much upside.

^ Admittedly I have no idea what goes into your numbers, but is the 6 mpg he played last year really enough to get meaningful statistical analysis from?

Not just MPG, but total minutes played. I like to think that at least 500 minutes are required for good numbers, and 1600 for very reliable assessments. I don't think Sacre will ever see that many though.

A deal beyond this year? I don't understand this at all. Why not just sign Mbemga for one season who can give you a better 5 minutes per game off the bench? Strange.

Well, Sacre looked good in his first few minutes of summer league play. Protected the rim, swished an 18 foot jumper, looked bigger than anyone out there, basically looked like an NBA player. Not really significant info, just my impressions of how he looks for the first time seeing him play since the Spurs bounced us out of the playoffs.

Mike Tyson was overrated? hmmmm.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Not the greatest quality and why the hell would you get DMX and Snoop Dogg tattooed on your body? :man10:

I mean Mike I get because the guy was one of the most destructive fighters I've ever seen even though it would never enter my mind to get him tattooed on my body...

Agreed. Young Tyson would have destroyed just about anyone. Not just beaten - destroyed. He was fast and strong like no one else and he actually had excellent defense.

Everyone not named Muhammad Ali. Quick, constantly in your face jabs bothered Mike tremendously.

I'd be happy to let Tyson and Ali duke it out to settle that one. What a fight it would be.

My money and of course my heart would be on Ali. Young Ali with his height, lightining reflexes, the jabs, footwork, finishing power when he had you hurt, and unfortunately for him in later life the ability to take a big punch. And the head games and "conversations" with Mike in the clinches. :man9:

Then again…. hard as Smokin Joe hit, Iron Mike hit harder and was fast as well. But very short. I worked a high end wedding around 6 years ago with 2 other camera persons where Mike was the best man (go figure??) for "Mean Jeff Greene". Was at this mansion in Beverly Hills up in a box canyon where he owned it and the whole box canyon. :man4:

https://www.google.com/search?client=sa ... 8&oe=UTF-8

My personal theory was that when Greene was at Harvard business school he was already amassing his first mega millions in real estate transactions. This was around the time when Mike was in his prime and maybe they met, and Mike was bank rolling Greene's business ventures. Greene says they met in Malibu around 20 years ago.

The kid is rounding into an NBA player. His little hook shots are very nicely done with a good touch. He positions his body well to keep defenders away from the ball, something he has to do because his arms aren't that long for a 7-footer.

I'm not sure why he's getting time over Kaman, but it's actually worked. He's got more energy and he's a little more mobile. Maybe that's why he's getting time?

you had to actually jab Mike. When he got too full of himself he stopped working and that is when guys were able to pick him a part. Young hungry Mike Tyson may have been the hardest hitting fighter, ever. Mike cut out the distance of a jab and just beat the hell out of people. Think about this: He knocked guys out with body blows.

Now on topic: Sacre was great last night. This kid fits with this team greatly.
