Hehe. Like someone would actually take that offer. It would be nice for us, yeas. No question.

Aren't Blake and Ebanks "expirings?..... Pau will be next year.... that's a ton of lettuce off someones payroll.....

If Morris/Blake are playing at the same time, then it must be time to make some upgrades.

Again with the rotations... If you're going to subject us to Morris at the Point, you HAVE to give us a real SG.

Blake's playing well as the PG, but he's NOT a SG. We HAVE a SG that came here this summer. F***ing PLAY him!

news flash people we need athletic players. we have a 2nd unit that plays just like the first unit with no change of pace when they come in. josh smith would help change our whole identity defensively and on offense helping us get into transition and forcing nash to push the ball.

He's gassed...he has no lift anymore. Averaged 40 mins so far and is 7 minutes shy of playing the entire game in this game. I love Pau, but we might need some fresh legs if this continues. Mike isn't going to cut back minutes, so we're going to have to find young legs that can handle it.

With trade rumors starting to pile up, Pau will play worse and worse with each passing week. On top of that Brown will drive him to the ground. Either Brown must go or Pau... or both :man9:

Josh Smith and Nicolas Batum would be a wet dream. Get rid of anyone on the roster to make it happen besides Kobe, Dwight, or Nash.

i don't think we will make any trades, this core will compete for next two years and then we will reload in 2014 summer.

If Brown is going to coach this season, might as well go get a bunch of young legs to keep up with his demands....

Pau isn't going to last physically much longer if he has to play 40+ a night. Neither is Kobe....Neither is Nash....

i wouldnt mind that trade...i think people a lil bit overrating pau here...
he sucked for last two years...he knows to disappear over the season and even in play offs...while geting 20mil...
he is slow and weakminded...and people are allways finding excuses for him...
is he one of the most skilled and one of the most smartest big men in the game...???yes he is...but that doesnt mean much when other players are runing around you, while he is not capable to punish other players on offense...he is now much better version of luke walton( dont want to realy compare them...its more like example of good IQ player but with out athletic abilities)botom line he is weak and slow...j.smith can solve that problems...i know we are losing skiled big man but thats why have nash...imagine Pnr between nash and smith or dwight...thats unstopable...we need fresh blood...plus he would be only 3-4 option...he might be perfect adition while playing under nash kobe and howard...plus i dont think pau would make atl any better...maybe its time to go to club who drafted him in the first place...

I don't think Pau will be here next year even if we win it all...... his "expiring" contract will be the largest of all time and I'm sure we'd try and turn it into a couple pieces while trying to get out from under it.

I'm not convinced at all that we quit trying to trade Pau because we got Nash..... I think it's because nobody wanted him at that price and we couldn't even "give" him away...... I think the "he'll mesh well with Nash" stuff is cover for what the league already knows..... and Laker fans are beginning to realize.... He just isn't the same player he was 3 years ago.....

I'd love Granger and West from Indiana.... both expire at the same time and the money is about right (we may have to toss in Ebanks) but that would give us a much more compatible starting line up and a PF that absolutely thrived in the pick and roll with the punk that's in the other home locker room.....

I don't even want to think of a roster change with our starters right now. This is a dream team on paper that's been totally ruined by crappy coaching. Don't touch the starting 5.

The only roster move I desperately want to see is us bringing in a quality backup Point Guard. We've needed one since the beginning of the season. Blake hasn't cut it. Duhon's basically just as bad (although I thought he looked better than Blake in his limited preseason minutes). Morris is a disaster.

And now that Steve Nash is injured and will miss some significant time, this issue has just become more glaring.

Magic after the Clipper game was asked by Bill Simmons gleefully what color suit he was going to wear to the lottery for the Lakers.

Magic's response: "I don't own the Lakers anymore"

This is a dream team that is OLD like great but from the past. People don't seem to understand that besides DH12 the others are legends, but are already on the way out. They can't compete night in and night out with the young athletic horses around the league at this time of their careers. The Lakers are a paper dragon, they look great on paper because of past greatness but the reality is this is now. Other great basketball minds (Jerry West, Phil Jackson, Magic) have pointed this out and people just don't seem to understand. We've seen the problems with their health, Kobe's foot, Nash's fracture etc. They are extending themselves at a time in their careers where they just can't push themselves to those limits. How can we expect them to play defense the way they did years ago? If you watch them they are half a step slow, besides the bench give absolutely no support and therefore no rest. I love the Lakers and have been a Laker fan for over 40 years, but I don't think they will even make the playoffs. True that MB is a mediocre coach but we just can't blame everything on him. Keeping defensive effort for 48 minute and keeping everyone healthy without a decent bench is practically impossible, there's just so much juice in that lemon. I personally don't think any great coach would touch this team with a ten foot pole.

No great coach would touch this team? One that most of the pundits in the world, including Magic Johnson, picked to be in the Finals this year?

Do you know more than Mitch freaking Kupchak who put together this brilliant lineup?

They look like total garbage because they being coached like garbage.

We haven't even approached a great coach except Adelman who was dismissed because Jim fell for Brown. Why don't we at least send a feeler out to a great coach and see what happens before you say that none would come here.

And why is there so much ageism going on? What's up with that?

Michael Jordan's second three peat team had mid-thirties core. The Pistons who beat us weren't young. The Celtics with KG that won had a core in their thirties.

Great talent wins championships and we have tons of talent. We do have injuries, but that's what backup players are for (Jodie Meeks DNP CD says hi). We need a backup for Nash, period. And we need a coaching change. Let's do those two things before we throw in the towel on this amazing lineup.

Blake has been fine as a backup PG, but I'd still take West as a 3rd string PG. Blake isn't a starting PG that's for sure. He's done a decent job as the backup PG, but as a starter he just doesn't cut it.

Find a way to shed Duhon and Clark and bring in West. We could really use his depth.
