I dont think its some verbal thing, its a birds right thing like where players like Ebanks has rights to nix a deal unless he waives his bird rights. I remember Devan George f'd up a trade like this when he was in Dall.
I also remember reading that it was a verbal agreement between Ebanks & Mitch, because Ebanks waited to sign when the Dwightmare was still going on. I wouldn't doubt if Ebanks waives it if the team he's going to will play him.
that was just speculations that he wouldn't get traded with Howard deal that is why he waited to resign. I do not think Mitch gave this guy a "verbal" no trade clause. I really dont think Mitch would give most player that type of deal especially not some avg. 2nd player like Ebanks. Below is what I get on trade checker on realgm if you try to trade Ebanks....even Morris has this restriction
Devin Ebanks from Los Angeles Lakers
Ebanks is a one year bird player, which means he must agree to the deal for any trade to happen. Further, if Ebanks agrees to be traded, his Bird status will be reset and he will be viewed as a non-bird free agent this summer.
