The Los Angeles Lakers tried to acquire Daniel Gibson from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but were turned away

w/o picks you usually wouldn't get an expiring contract player like Gibson anyways, just like Ramon last year.

But you can't be real, deal'n that nonsense to me?

Any other competent coach gets this roster above .500 this late in the season. You got talent all over the place to counter with the injuries. No way, no how is this roster supposed to be sub .500 with the early favorable schedule we have had so far.

If Mitch brings in a big to fill the roster spot, will D'Antoni give that big PT? Methinks not...hence, D'Antoni will find a way to screw it up.

Get used to hearing Bell for 3...

Like I said: since we've started winning he's using this roster just fine. Since we've gone 9-13 or something like that, he's done just fine with every single piece he has with the very minute possibility of Ebanks. But given that Ebanks has turned out to be a total knucklehead, I can forgive that.

Let me phrase it this way: which player has he MISUSED during our win streak?

I saw the Heat are in contact with K-Mart, I would want the guy on the Lakers.

Let's see, where do I pick from....when the best shooting guard in the league is taking over the role of the 4th leading assist guy in history, meanwhile you got the best roll guy in the league getting lack of touches in an offense known for the pick n roll...something ain't rolling right.

The PnR has led to bad PR (aka players' roles)...and not to mention with the fans (but I guess not all of us).

So it's D'Antoni's fault entirely that Dwight doesn't want to play the pick and roll?

If Kobe's taking over the job of the 4th best assist man in history, but the team is winning that's also wrong?

We're winning games. That's what's important.

I know you hate D'Antoni, but some of this is simply misplaced. I can't hold D'Antoni responsible for Dwight's stubbornness. At least not 100%. And especially if we're winning doing whatever the hell we're doing.

The Lakers were probably close to getting Gibson until Mitch said "So what is Kyrie up to?" *CLICK*

The team is winning? WE got blown out by literally every good team in this "successful stretch". That simply isn't supposed to happen with this roster and our intent in making the playoffs. And guess what...even if we do, what type of team does an 8th seed see in the 1st round? We're going to get roll'd on!

I guess, your leash is a little longer with D'Antone...I guess you're okay with rolling with the punches...meanwhile, my face is tired of getting punched. :boxing1:

Brooklyn. Boston. Oklahoma City. Heck Utah isn't awful.

We lost to the Clippers yes. And we lost to Miami, sure. Throw in the loss to Boston although since it's Boston, the story changes slightly due to history.

We won the games we're supposed to win and a few we weren't. We're not perfect, but we're getting better. All I'm saying is that during this win streak, we've been doing alright and D'Antoni has been doing alright. I just don't think we can say any one person has been doing BAD during this stretch. Great? Eh. I don't think anyone has done great either.

I don't necessarily have a longer leash, I'm just an optimist. :man1:

I think we're getting better. The chemistry is hard to build and I have a feeling we are just starting to learn how to play the right way. We're not great, but actually... we're pretty decent. The Lakers do play like a playoff team right now. Too late, maybe. But the effort is there and at least D'Antoni sort of knows how to use his role-players. He gets something out of them. I don't think Brown was able to to that. The goal right now is to get healthy if at all possible and build chemistry. Make minor changes in the offseason, see if we can get something for Pau and try again. Next season, we should easily be in the playoffs, which will make the wait for our brand new 2014/15 team a little bit easier.

Eh, not too sad about missing on Brewer. I don't see why we couldn't match Barbosa for Jordan Crawford though, or what was given up for Telfair, not much.

Brewer and his terrible shot ... Crawford got talent but is the definition of a ballhog ... ala Shannon coming from the bench in 2011 ... would have liked Morrow ... dude is money from 3

Well our bench could use a scoring ballhog, especially for that cheap.

If Jazz decide to buyout Raja Bell, the Lakers will try to sign the veteran guard. Bell is working out in Fort Lauderdale and wants to play.

This makes me wonder. Have the Lakers not signed anyone yet to fill the obvious holes on our team (Backup C/SF) because we wanted to see what we could get at the deadline? Are we now going to look at guys like Bell/Amundson/Martin and whoever gets bought out, since we failed at getting anything through trade?

That might be why the FO hasn't signed anyone yet.

Amundson, Martin, sure. Bell? What the f*** are they thinking? Yeah we need an ancient guy that literally does NOTHING better than MWP or even Meeks.

Don't underestimate Bell ability to change the outcome of a playoffs series by clotheslining Wade or Westbrook

So more Bell less Metta?

Clark, Jamison, Bell, Meeks, and Blake lineup?

Amundson is a high energy player though limited but what the team needs is a role player who will do other things and not worry about "touches" or whatever. Set picks, crash the boards, hustle for the ball, defend. Bell? I haven't seem him play but another perimeter defender could really help. I'll take those two over Ebanks and Morris seven days a week and twice on Sundays.
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

I wouldn't mind Bell too much since he can shoot, maybe can contribute more than Meeks when he is on his cold streaks. Amundson is a hustle guy especially on the boards, Martin we all know can be solid so I would not mind him.

Any of those wouldn't be bad for what's left on the FA market this season, supposing Bell gets bought out.

The ONLY thing I'll give Bell is that he's a d***. We kind of need a guy like that. Metta is a d***, but he can't get away with ANYTHING. We need a guy who we can throw out there to be a d***.

But there's got to be another guy like this out there somewhere... I mean seriously...
