yea I would've said him too but him taking that type of money is unlikely and we would need to get rid of Blake 1st as well.

eh, trade him for a 2nd rounder or use the amnesty on him. :man10:

that would be awesome but I think he is gonna try to take more money...maybe if we move Metta and Blake that can happen....

Even if we moved both we still can only offer the mini MLE, unless we get trade exception for em but even then I think the S&T restriction would kick in since we're over the tax threshold.

Sources continue to say that the Lakers are interested in Raja Bell. LA hopes Bell is bought out. Bell has history Mike D'Antoni/Steve Nash.

Kobe Bryant has pushed for a Raja Bell acquisition, says source. Bryant respects Bell, who is training in Fort Lauderdale and wants to play.

We have an extra roster spot right? I'd rather use it on Bell than nobody. Worst case, he's washed up garbage and can't crack our rotation. Best case, he can give us 10-15 minutes at back-up SF (a spot on our rotation that currently belongs to ... no one). He has the respect of Kobe, he is apparently working out and wanting to play, he's still a 39% three point shooter. And I'm sure that even at his age, he's still a competent defender compared to a lot of our other players.

He was none of those things in Utah..... Last year. He's a year older and hasn't played in a while.

We'll see......

A body is better than no body, plain and simple. Even if it's an older body like that. I personally hate Bell and I think we ought not to sign anyone if we're going to just bring him in.

But hey. A body is a body. And if it's a body that two of our most important players want/respect then I'll trust their judgement. He won't give us 10-15 competent minutes, but 5-10 would be nice. Something to throw out there that isn't Ebanks or Kobe and Ron playing more minutes.

Let's see if the Jazz buyout Raja Bell and if the Lakers are gonna sign him when the waiver deadline comes on March 1st.

Both Jack and Landry have been excellent steals salary wise ... Landry is making Blake money :man10:

Spoiler:
Real, we gotta get a bet going where the loser has to post only in youtube clips...haha....seriously though, I love discussing Lakers with you.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I really really don't like Bell...but like Real said, a body is a body and if we can't bring in a big to spare Dwight heavy minutes, then might as well bring in a guy that can spare Kobe minutes....cause that dude has been putting in time this season and we really really REALly can't afford losing him.

I've been down that bet before :man10: I had to post only pictures for a month and that was way too difficult. We'll think of something

I think Bell comes in and gives us more than Ebanks. Some smart passing, some fit within D'Antoni's system... There's no reason he can't hit outside shots for us and give us 6 fouls right?

Hopefully signing Bell would mean Ron comes out of games when he starts jacking up shots like he's Kobe.

We need another backup PG. I can see why the Lakers were offering Blake for a 2nd rounder. Calderon is available this summer; he'd be much more of an upgrade. Also, if Nash does get hurt, we can integrate him in the starting lineup and the drop-off wouldn't be that bad.

We need another SG/SF type I cannot take MWP playing 36+ mins a night anymore. I think at this point the FO has probably packed it in for this year, we are desperate for a backup SF and theyve done nothing

SF should be a priority right now. The rest we have covered, for the most part.

I think SF is covered. Earl can play SF. He usually starts with the 2nd unit in the 2nd and 4th quarters when Metta is resting. We need a big. A big who can rebound, play a little D and block shots.
