Yep.

I think that's about as solid as you can get with our roster. And now that these guys know that's the deal, they're doing the work we expected from the start.

^^ Probably very true, Karacha. Wish we could have added one guy though to lighten the load until then. This is the home stretch and we're only playing 8. It might have been ok, but Clark has taken a hit with his finger injury. He hasn't had the same efficiency he had before.

Earl's numbers have dipped dramatically. I think it's a combination of his finger and playing heavy minutes on a nightly basis. I know he's only 25, but he's never played this many minutes before in his NBA career. I sure hope he finds another notch because we need his production from here on out to be successful.

On topic though, I do think we should have added a big or another SG/SF to reduce Kobe and Ron's minutes. Obviously, that isn't happening. We're stuck with this roster which hasn't performed bad in the last 15 or so games. So, let's ride it out and see what happens...

Hey Guys, can someone clarify what the rules are for adding players from your D League team in regards to having them available for the playoffs? Do the same signing/roster deadlines apply to D Leaguers as unrestricted or waived free agents?

Not completely sure, but I think you can sign them anytime during the regular season before the playoff rosters need to be submitted. Essentially d-leagues are free agents and don't need to be bought out or placed on the waiver wire unless a team owns their rights (like Morris and Sacre in our case).

I don't know how many times I said I want him on the Lakers. With our putrid wing players, it really couldn't get any worse.

No one has said yet this season IIRC.....

Let's sign TMac to play the backup SF. :jam2:

Holding out for Rodman. His biggest weakness was his mindset, but as he has recently showed his versatility as a peace-maker with Korea, it's clear he's now better than ever.

Always wanted Williams on the team, I thought he'd be a great backup considering we have...no one. I also wouldn't mind signing T-Mac. He played really well last season, sure he wasn't like the old T-Mac but he was still a very solid point forward who could come in and make some big plays.

So how did T-Mac do under D'Antoni when he played in NY?

Josh Smith auditioning for the Lakers in this first half:

12 points/ 4 rebounds/ 1 ast/ 1 stl/ 1 blk 6/10 FG

Some good defense on Kobe.

You mean the year where he only played 26 games? I'm looking at the previous two seasons when he actually played well.

This season, we're not doing anything. We're waiting until Pau is healthy, then going with a 9-man rotation.

Next year, here's what I'd like to see...

1) Trade Pau for Josh Smith in a S&T deal
2) Amnesty MWP
3) Pick up Meeks' option
4) Re-sign Earl Clark
5) Sign Kyle Korver with the MMLE

Steve Nash...Steve Blake
Kobe Bryant...Jodie Meeks
Kyle Korver
Josh Smith...Earl Clark
Dwight Howard...Jordan Hill

Does the receiving team of the player being s&t have to be under the cap?

Not under the cap, but under the tax. We won't be on the receiving side of any S&T's any time soon.

Josh Smith? Bleh no thanks. He's getting a max this summer, and the Lakers aren't going to ruin their financial flexibility for Josh freaking Smith. Dude is fools gold.

Posts about trading for Smith after this game :man10: ... I didn't need to watch this game to know I don't want him on our team ( and never did) but it's hilarious to read some posts about trading for him after tonight ... did we all watch the same game ?

If it wasn't for the bonehead plays & FT shooting, Smith would be a great fit for this team. Granger, Deng, Batum are much better fits in a Pau trade. If we're willing to take Boozer, I think Deng could be the most realistic target. Granger is obviously the odd man out with Paul George emerging. I don't know why Portland would trade Batum but that could change. Pau will be at his peak value next season as an expiring. We're playing this out the right way to get the best deal in the end.

thats the problem, those things are an everyday part of his game, from the airball 3's, to the horrible ft shooting.......why would anyone expect that change after what 8 season already in the league?

^^ Not a big fan of Smith myself. I don't want him here on a max contract. I'd love to get Granger if his knee is ok. Batum is a terrific young talent but I doubt Portland lets him go. Deng could be good, although I prefer Granger's game by a significant amount. My only concern is his health going forward.

Exactly. That'd be like saying "Man... Spinach is great except for the way it tastes and smells."

Well yeah... that's the reason why people don't love it!

Smith's great except for his poor FTs, poorer decision making, and even poorer jump shot.
