if he gets picked up by the Spurs i bet he'll bomb 3's for them unlike what he did for us...

Wouldn't be shocking at all.. The Spurs system gets guys open shots like no other offense.. Great coach & strong veteran leadership.. Role players thrive on teams like that.

Look at Roger Mason Jr. He was a lights out 3 point shooter & great role player in SA.. Couldn't sniff the floor in Washington.

He had the best shooting season of his career in washington and actually his best season if you consider points per minutes

Still.. He only managed to get 13.4 MPG on a terrible Wizards team. & was actually waived back in April. He was one of the best role players in the league in SA.. Great systems make great role players is the point I'm trying to make.

Still looking for a young, hardnosed PG to backup Steve.

That would be most ideal for us. We can live with a SF rotation of Metta, Jamison, Ebanks.

We can't live with a PG bench of Blake, Duhon, Morris. :hurl:

There's no one significant out there at PG.. It's going to have to come by trade. We don't really have any assets that we can give up.. Maybe Mitch will get some use out of a TPE. Duhon's contract will have some value once he's eligible to be traded again. He has a very friendly buyout. I wish we could upgrade PG by unloading Blake, but it's just not realistic.. Without a 1st to package, Blake will play out his contract as a Laker.

I'm not nearly as concerned with backup SF. I trust Ron's health more than Nash's. We have Ebanks ready to break out. & let's not forget about Kobe.. Every time we've had a capable backup SG in the past, Kobe has played some minutes at SF. If Meeks provides spacing like he's capable of doing, don't be surprised if he sees extended minutes with Kobe at the 3.

i think Blake will be a good backup to Nash. Last season his offense was terrible, and was forced to play SG which is NOT him.

with guys like meeks jaminson and hopefully an improved ebanks, blake should be able to do what he should instead of being required to be an offensive threat and scorer as a SG which hes not. i think he'll be fine with the 2nd unit running it. now we have offensive options coming off the bench and jordan hill on defense and boarding so blake will just be required to just pass to the open guy and to SHOOT the open 3 rather than being an offensive threat. he cant be passive when it comes to open 3's...let it fly bc he's actually a decent 3 point shooter when he actually does.

other than the 06-07 season where he jumped between 2 teams, and last season with mike brown; steve blake has shot over 37% from 3 every season of his career.

career stats: 24.8mpg 40.4% FG 38.73PT%

farmar > blake as far as production goes. we complained about farmar taking too many 3's and scoring too much, but how many times has blake passed up an open 3? :bang:

Report: Andray Blatche Still Considering Signing With Heat

Despite reports of an agreement in principle with the Brooklyn Nets, two sources say that Andray Blatche is still considering an offer from the Miami Heat.

Blatche worked out for Avery Johnson in Houston last weekend.

“Nothing is finalized," said one person close to Blatche.

Miami has really stepped up their bench game this year... Blatche would be icing on the cake

Blatche
Haslem/Lewis
Miller
Allen
Cole

pretty good and fits very well around the big 3.

blake will be able to walk into 4 assists a game and just have to shoot 3's. thats a job i think he can do well if thats all he has to do. his real effort will be trying to play the scrappy annoying defense he can against some backup pg's.

farmar was good for us but we have blake...mike brown would start blake if we didnt have nash so were stuck with him. he can shoot the 3 pretty well if hes confident in it and i think a full season and full training camp with mike brown and a solidified role as the BACKUP PG and nothing more i think will do wonders.

Yeah, Blake does really well matching up against 2nd team guys, and occasional pestering of 1st team guys.

DIdn't happen when Fish was starting, what makes this year any different (other than a better bench).

Steve still hasn't shown the type of game everyone expected him to play, for two seasons already.

Along those lines, how do you see Dwight and Kobe fitting together? Kupchak: They're going to be just fine. I mean, Dwight's the future, and Kobe and Steve and Metta and Pau, they're the present. There shouldn't be any problem. Pau can play anywhere for anybody, Steve and Kobe, all they want to do is win. And Metta is completely comfortable being a complementary player. If he gets eight to 10 points a game and is a great defender and wins, he's so happy. So I've got no problems thinking that these guys can work it out and play together. When the clock gets short, Kobe will end up with the ball in his hands and Steve, regardless of the offense we play, will control the pace. We're not talking about introducing a new offense to a young, unproven team. It's a veteran group, and they'll figure out how to do it.

Raja Bell Continuing To Work On Buyout With Jazz

Raja Bell Continuing To Work On Buyout With Jazz

Image

Raja Bell has yet to give the Utah Jazz a decision on a contract buyout as the two sides continue to work toward reaching an agreement, his agent told RealGM on Tuesday.

“We’re talking to their new GM [Dennis Lindsey] and working on it,” agent Herb Rudoy said by phone.

Contrary to multiple reports last month that Bell had been refusing the buyout proposal from the Jazz, Rudoy confirmed that "he hasn’t rejected or accepted anything.”

Bell signed a three-year deal with the Jazz in 2010, but has made known his displeasure and desire to part ways since the middle of the 10-11 season.

Regarded as a quality outside shooter and a gritty defender, Bell, 35, has averaged almost 10 points on 40.6 percent from three-point range over his 12-year career with six different teams. Bell averaged 6.4 points last season, playing in 34 of 66 games.

If we wanted another perimeter defender, I'd rather bring back Barnes or make a play for Pietrus than even speak to Tinkerbell.

Mickael Pietrus | Celtics
RECOMMEND1COMMENTS0EMAIL

It seems like forever that we've been speculating about possible landing spots for free agent wing Mickael Pietrus. Soon, we could finally have our answer.

Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News in Minneapolis tweets today that while there is nothing new to report as far as the Timberwolves' chances with Pietrus goes, the French swingman's camp "says they think they're close to a deal with someone."

Which team could it be? It's tough to say. The Clippers reportedly will add Matt Barnes, so that rules them out. Boston no longer has the money to afford him. This is pure speculation, but a darkhorse here could be Charlotte. The Bobcats have shown interest in Antawn Jamison, Josh Howard, Tracy McGrady and Ryan Gomes this summer, and may the team willing to give Pietrus the money he wants to get him to sign on the dotted line.

Pietrus would be nice. We could then just package Ebanks out of here since so many people would rather replace him. I wouldn't mind.

Yeah Pietrus would sure be nice to get. If not, that's fine too. I've been with the crowd that says we should give Ebanks a real chance this year and finally see what we have with him.
