Would Minny do Pek/Kirilenko/Pick for Pau? Or are those guys FAs?

makes no sinse. If we trade Pau it means that we'd be getting players we want back to go along with our future. If we don't do that we just let his $19 million come off our books. so next offseason we only have Nash's roughly $9.2 million on the books and thats it.

so pau is our center for the time being... i say keep him for the season... we arent gonna accomplish anything next season anyways... let his contract expire... if anything... lakers should try to trade nash and get expirings and or draft picks... so we really can start fresh for next offseason

You know what. I'm an idiot. I was thinking about this earlier today with the mindset of the Howard SnT to GSW for maybe Barnes and Jefferson. NVM. :man10:

Not sure if we're talking about 2014 in this thread, but I'm kind of hoping we don't go for LeBron and focus more on Paul George.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

Please guys, I do not want Bynum, Farmar, Sasha or anyone from the past back. This team needs to get what ever they can this year, try and see how competitive they can be and then pray to God Lebron wants to test the market next year.

I believe George is a RFA, there's no way Indiana lets him go.

Yeah, just found out about that... George would have to tell Indiana he wants out and not to match Lakers offer, who knows though... he's a SoCal kid that adored Kobe, not outside the realm of possibility.

I can't help thinking about Billy Mac :man10: I imagine him sounding way too optimistic and getting overly excited after a Ryan Kelly 3, or a nice Pau rebound and putback. It's going to be so painful lol

Even then I think they'd still match the offer. Something similar happened with Eric Gordon and the Hornets last season when he wanted to sign with PHX and told the Hornets not to match the offer, which they did anyways.

problem with Paul George is that he will be a restricted free agent and we can all be sure that IND matches the max and pretty much anything else we offer.

At this point if someone like Toronto or Milwaukee or something offers you their 2014 pick for Nash you have to do it. He can fetch us a mid teens pick IMO

Teams that could want Pau should be teams that are either: in win-now mode and lack "size" - looking for expirings to clear space.
Problem with teams looking for expirings is that they naturally want to dump contracts, and we ain't taking any.
We need to find some team that can offer picks and maybe a few assets / expirings, and that obviously wants a big like Pau.
So, who could that be? Realistically?

Honestly I disagree. I think what we're going to see is a lot of teams tanking right away and a few teams tanking later when they realize they're not going to be great.

Some team somewhere is going to want to unload at the deadline a guy who's VERY good, so good that they're making them mediocre when they really should suck. Who? I'm not sure right now.

I'd say Rondo probably will be available at some point, but I don't know if expirings will do it. Maybe Love if he demands out. Maybe a Rudy Gay or a Demar Derozan. Maybe an Eric Gordon. Maybe... Granger?

I don't know right now I'm not that focused. But those are the guys who I see the Lakers pulling the trigger on. Young types that have talent. We're not going to get picks because teams that want expirings are trying to clear room for a rebuild and they want picks too. We're going to look to snatch a good young talent so that we have something to build on faster.

Well we subtracted Dwight. That's a pretty big subtraction when you think about it.

So this is our roster so far

C Pau/ Sacre
PF Hill/Ryan Kelly
SF ???/???
SG Kobe/ Meeks
PG Nash/Blake

We need a minimum of 13 and we have 8...probably will add 14 since Kobe is out

Hopefully no more Morris

Good God! We have no SF's??? :freak2:

Anyway, Lamar, Ronny, and Kenyon to fill out 3 of the 5 spots? Need a PG to backup Blake since Nash will miss games at some point next year.

Speaking of no SF, what GSW planning to do with both Barnes and Iggy? Keep Barnes off the bench?
