There goes Collison and Morrow

The Clippers and Darren Collison have agreed on a two-year contract.

The Spurs have had "exploratory" talks with free agent Anthony Morrow, according to FOX 29 San Antonio.

I think Lakers are only offering one year deals. They don't want any more money tied for next season. That's y u see all these other players signing for cheap. But for multi year deals. This gonna be a big gamble. Jim buss is really gonna try to hit the grand slam next off season

Ahh, makes sense... guess we're all in for 2014 then, either free agency or the draft.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

at this point, we're gonna end up with open tryouts for joe schmo down the block. we're going to have $50M in cap space next year, if not more. i think tying up up to $10M in salary beyond 1 season is okay. we need to start putting together a team, if only for the purpose of having tradeable assets when/if something comes up

Wow.. It just keeps going.. We're a Mitch firing & Kobe retirement away from the worst case scenario.

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN LA, the Lakers have gained interest in the free agent big man Elton Brand.

If you can get Morrow on a minimum deal, then tehy'll do it. He probably wants full mMLE at multiple years.

I'd love EB here. He'd be a decent pairing with Pau.

I don't know why that's funny, I'd take him for a season. He's old, but you don't forget how to shoot, and he can shoot.

I've been clamoring for Elton Brand all off-season. Imagine if we could get Brand/Odom here? We'd have the best of LA!... from the early 2000s.

But seriously I'd love Elton Brand if we could afford him. I thought I'd read he signed somewhere already though.

How old is Brand?

With the way D'antonis butt is on the line...he'll play Nash/Kobe/MWP/brand/gasol all 40mins+ right out of the gate and will end up being in wheelchairs by the allstar break

so Jim had no backup plan? I know the cp3 thing was killer and now Dwight but they had to see this coming and come up with a plan.

clippers just got REALLY good and they already were. Bledsoe was good but I think collision is better.

wtf are we doing? we're gonna suck

At this point, I'm waiting for something, anything to happen already. It's like the Lakers thought Dwight was going to stay and then free agents would just flock here, and had no backup plan. So far this is what we've done, let Clark, Jamison, Glock, and Morris walk, release Duhon, extend a qualifying offer to Sacre, and draft Ryan Kelly, that's if. We have added no one. Are we waiting for the scraps to be left before moving to do something? I mean come on, it's 6 days into free agency and we don't have a single verbal commitment.

Maybe it's the buzz I have going but watching those old Lakers team highlights have me feeling sentimental. I know it's completely pipe but I hope all of the members of that old Laker team can get together with Phil & have a big sentimental talk about bringing back old times.. A good enough talk to sell Bynum on taking the minimum for 1 year until we have cap space.. Farmar, Sasha, LO all back for the minimum. Nick Young with the mini mle.. MWP + as many future 2nd rounders as we need to give up for Ariza.

Nash/Farmar/Blake
Kobe/Sasha/Meeks
Ariza/Young
Pau/LO/R-Kelly
Bynum/Hill

I'd feel really good about watching that team this season.. Probably better than I would watching our team if Dwight stayed..

There is no chance we sign Bynum to the minimum. No way in hell.

Maybe we can get him back for a couple million? For a chance to start on the team he won 2 rings with, he might take it.
