Salley just said on the B.D.S.S.P. that Shaq is down to 280 and looking good. He said, "Wait until you see him."

The diesel has re-fueled people :man9:

"Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." - Kevin Garnett

I've heard that he is just huge, ripped, and looks strong, not big, but "stong" It's going to be nice to watch the big man dominate once again...

How do you figure? He got alot thicker since the 2000 season, and this is the first time hes had a trainer since 1996...

It could be possible, all I know, whatever his weight is... He's going to try and lead this 03-04 Laker to the gold...

I know this, he knows this, you know this.

I'm glad he's training, but 280? Ok here's my rationale:

He's listed at 338 on NBA.com, and unless I'm mistaken it was common knowledge he was carrying a LOT more weight than that, with lots of speculation he was close to 400. Anyway let's just assume his weight was 350, that's a 20% drop in weight since the season ended?

Karl Malone and Tim Duncan are listed at 260, so Shaq is carrying just 20lbs more than these guys now?

I dunno, just seems like quite a stretch that's all. Anyone know Shaq's weight when he was drafted from LSU?

I'll be happy if Shaq comes in at 305.
In my opinion that's he's ideal playing weight.

At 305, he has enough bulk to push people around and at the same time enough speed and agility to go around opposing centers.

I don't know how reliable this is, but I realized today that in my NBA 2K3 game, it lists Shaq at a gigantic 370! I've heard he was around 350 but they covered it up.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Hey BDG.....Shaq is freakin dominant at NBA 2K3.

All I do is give him the ball at the post and power dunk it. At one point he had 120+ points in one game and had 98% shooting percentage. Of course I was playing the 12 minute quarters.

Kobe is also great in that game.

"When Shaq first came into the league back in 1992," says a veteran NBA coach, "he was built along the lines of a slightly bulkier David Robinson. Around seven-one and 285 pounds. Strong and powerful, but still quick and kind of sleek. These days, Shaq looks and moves like he weighs close to four-hundred pounds."

That estimate is seconded by several current players. But in the absence of a public weighing on a cattle scale, nobody really knows how much poundage The Big Load is really carrying around. Yet the fact that Shaq not only shuns any kind of scale, but totally freezes out any media maven bold enough to bring up the subject of his weight is a strong indication that Shaq is well aware of the problem

280 is too small.........he was 295 when Hakeem moped the floor with him in 1995.......he wasent as dominate.......when he came at 315, he was so strong, nobody could do anything with him.......280 no that is too small 315 is a ok big man

SHAQ was 285 coming out of LSU with an 8% body fat!!! he was refered to as a HUSKIER David Robinson in terms of body type coming out of LSU
he is nowhere near that weight.. unless he was starving himself or something.. but he will never be that weight again because he has gained too much muscle and muscle weighs more than fat!!!
I agree, a solid 315-325, is a possibility.
