Nash / Farmar
Kobe / Blake / Meeks
Young / Henry
Williams / Johnson / Hill / Harris / Kelly
Pau / Kaman / Sacre

This seems to be what MDA is wanting to do heading into the season. It would make more sense to pick up Brown and drop either Harris or Kelly. Especially since Kobe isn't going to be playing and Nash can't be depended on for more than 25 minutes every night.

Nash / Farmar
Blake / Brown / Meeks (Kobe)
Young / Henry
Williams / Johnson / Hill / Kelly
Pau / Kaman / Sacre

It makes sense when you look at it from MDA's depth chart standpoint.

Lakers in mix but no decision yet. Can't claim Brown off waivers w/out taking his $3.5M PHX deal so expect him to clear & then pick new team

gotta clear waivers as said above .... what are odds on him doing that so Lakers could take him? Doc posted same time as you, hadn't seen.

I don't think the chances are bad that he clears waivers. He's a decent player, but he's not someone I expect teams to really be clamoring over.

Brian Cook was waived today, let's bring everybody back. :man12: :man10: Seriously though, I would still take Shannon over Meeks, but if we did that would seem to mean Harris or Kelly is cut. Shannon would actually play, so I can't say I would be upset over cutting Harris, but I would never cut Henry to do this if the Lakers even consider that, he has more potential than Shannon, who is what he is at this point.

C - Gasol / Kaman / Sacre
PF - William / Hill / Kelly
SF - Johnson / Young
SG - Kobe / Shannon / Henry / Meeks
PG - Nash / Farmar / Blake

That's your full 15 players right there

Your lineup is flawed

Blake has split time at PG and SG
Wes has played all PF and slotted there by dantoni
Yound starts at SF and Henry has been slotted at backup SF
Hill sucked all preseason at PF and has only played C the last games vs Utah
Meeks has played all sg except the Vegas game where he tried pg
Farmar has been all pg

By every means Shannon doesn't impact Young, Wes, or Henry who have been 3s and 4s. He impacts Meeks and Blake who have played the sg spot with kobe out. With Nash's health it's possible the team may think he will get hurt and are planning for a Blake and Farmar split when kobe returns. They all know Shannon can start and produce in the league unlike Meeks who numbers went down in starts all last year. They could simply look to flip Meeks for a second rounder on his deal if Shannon clears waivers and wants to return to la where his family is and success has been like Farmar

I agree with Roo and others about Shannon's IQ, but he has 3 things Meeks doesn't have. Speed, athleticism, and size. When we meet up with bigger PG's like Rubio, Deron Williams, etc, it's good to have a bigger PG/SG type on the roster who has the length, size, and athleticism to defend them and attack them offensively. If the pricetag is right, then you have to pick Shannon over Meeks or Harris.

Yeah, do Harris and bring Shannon back. Up goes the athleticism another notch, and Rambis and Lakers are familiar with him and can lay down law as to what is expected from him if he wants to be a Laker again. What's not for Go Go Go Dan to like in his skill and athletics set? Never did see enough of Harris to feel bad saying that. But if Nash goes down again, now that DJO is gone, we are no longer deep in guards with Kobe out.

I don't know.. I guess it makes sense if they see Henry as more of a SF.. I'm just hoping if we sign Shannon it means Harris is gone & so is Meeks playing time.. As long as he's taking minutes from Meeks/Blake I'm all for it.. How do we get minutes for Shannon/Kobe/Young/Henry once Kobe returns? I didn't include Wes because he's been looking good at PF, but that's a ton of depth on the wings. Good problem to have in a league driven by athleticism.. Maybe that Faried rumor has legs & we'll dump Hill/Meeks/Harris for him & sign Shannon.

Dantoni had said all summer and preseason he wants to play 11.

Nash 20 - Farmar 20 - Blake 8
Kobe 24 - Shannon 16 - Blake 8
Young 24 - Xavier 16 - Kobe 8
Williams 16 - Johnson 16 - Hill 16
Pau 28 - Kaman 20

I would say that seems about right for the 11 man rotation. No Shannon means Blake likely gets 20mins and Meeks 12 or so

I'd take Brown. Plus, MDA's offense is not complicated, so even Shannon can grasp it. If nothing else Shannon, just run. It's very friendly to the athletic. Harris and Kelly aren't going to add ish to the season anyways.

And it wouldn't suck to put Shannon on Paul, Westbrook, etc for stretches like he was used on Deron and. Billups by Phil

Let's give Henry a chance. I would be ticked if we brought him back. Let's move on and let him go to another team.

X would probably won't be pissed if they play him at SF since D'Antoni seems to be trying to bring the "Shawn Marion" outta Wes by playing him at PF and bringing back Shannon as a back up SG. I'd say Hill is the likely one to be ticked.

Nash/Farmar
Bryant/Brown
Young/Johnson/Henry
Williams/Hill/Johnson
Gasol/Kaman/Hill

there's your rotation and I'm cool with it.

I'm not a big fan, but if we can trade Meeks I'd take him back. I don't think he's any better than Meeks overall, but I'm so tired of watching Meeks I'll take another boarder line scrub to yell at... :man10:

I didn't like Shannon back then, I don't like Shannon right now, and I'm sure I won't like Shannon if he comes back.

He's show no improvement at all, his shooting is pretty horrendous, and he thinks he's Kobe Bryant.

Meeks is just as bad, but he doesn't think he's Kobe Bryant at least.
