Sure, in a second if we could cut Meeks or trade him for a late 2nd rounder or something.

Cutting him is not an option because there is little chance anyone picks him thus we have a to still pay him and we lose one of our trading chips.

i'd love to see shannon back in LA but only if its not the shannon we saw in the later parts of the 10-11 season when he was chucking up shot after shot and missing

He'd fit a lot better with what our second unit is all about.

Farmar / Brown / Henry / Johnson / Hill / Kaman

That's a solid bench right there.

Yes. Lets be real here Kobe's likely to comeback, but Nash is likely to miss a ton of games and Meeks to suck.

Wes is being used at 4 because he's better than Hill there (Hill is the third best c on the team). Hill like Nash will be in a suit soon, he's made of glass and stays hurt as well.

Farmar/Blake
Kobe/Shannon
Young/Henry
Williams/Johnson
Pau/Kaman

Dantoni could use that. And the O we lack with Kobe out can be manufactured by Shannon somewhat as opposed to Meeks whose numbers sucked starting last year.

Heck I would pick up Marshall as well. He's a hell of a passer. He also averaged double digit assits in his 3 games he started last year, make Nash useful for something, have him teach Marshall full time. At worse have Marshall assigned to the Dfenders all year to gain confidence and familiarity with Sacre

He's been playing 3 all preseason, Wes 4. Meeks has been the primary backup 2 and Blake has split time at both guard spots. Nash hasn't even completed a practice, out of Paus own mouth, so it would be smart to have a productive SG when Farmar/Blake are splitting pg duties.

Shannon is the best backup Kobe's had :man11:

He just got released. How good can he be if he got released by the Wizards of all teams :man11:

Marshall was released too. The wizards have no use for him when they just paid Webster over mle money and Maynor bae money. They released them because they committed all that salary this summer after they funnily enough couldn't get a similar Gortat deal done. They are all set 1-3 and committed money to those spots. Marshall is getting waived and shannon bought out

By every means Shannon last year wasnt awful, he was liked by one coach and not by hunter. Same thing happened with JO, Dudley, Scola, and Gortat. 10.5ppg, 42%fg, 27% threes (2 attempts) in 24mpg.

That's better than anything Meeks did in his starts.

I don't think anyone would argue he's worse than Meeks. But Meeks isn't getting cut.

The only way we pick him up is if Meeks gets cut and it won't happen.

2 things.... Meeks sucks and Brown sucks.... degrees of suck are in the eye of the beholder.

Stat lines and box scores count in Fantasy.... not in real life. Brown sucks at making decisions and knowing what to do. Meeks sucks at execution... he knows what to do most of the time he just can't do it.

How is Shannon Brown's abysmal 27% from 3 better than Meeks 38% from long range? I'm by no means a fan of Meeks, but come on man.

Shannon Brown was indeed awful last year, as he was during the end of his Laker days. He's no longer the hungry kid trying to establish himself as an NBA player. He's a low IQ vet, who is content with playing for a paycheck. He's nothing more than a bottom-of-the-barrel 3rd stringer these days, at best.

Brown took two threes a game, most contested. Meeks took 4 a game damn near all open. Brown shot 33 and 35% from 3 as a laker on less attempts. He shot 36% with Nash in Phoenix. Shannon has him beat in actual effectiveness in this league as a starter, and he's proven more durable than I step on spike strips the past two years.

There's no logic that says Shannon isn't a better temporary starting 2 than Blake or Meeks with the way Henry/Nick are used at 3 and Wes at 4. I'd hope we could sell Meeks off like we did Jumaine Jones for a second rounder to some team tbh.

Do people not know Jodie's starting stats last year?

Well, that's the word. :man12:

Although I'd still rather have Sasha on the team.

I don't see how.. We already need to get rid of Meeks somehow.. We're gonna be playing SG's at PF if we suffer a couple injuries.

:man10: How?

I mean he'd fit pretty damn well into our suddenly super athletic bench, but we hardly have room for Xavier (who earned his keep). What are we going to do with Shannon?

Unless there's a way to unload Blake and Meeks, we're not getting Shannon.

So this will be our final Roster ?

C - Gasol / Kaman / Sacre
PF - William / Hill / Kelly
SF - Johnson / Young
SG - Kobe / Shannon / Henry / Meeks
PG - Nash / Farmar / Blake

That's your full 15 players right there
