Shaq's mistake helps Kobe

Shaq waited too long to repair his toe, and the lakers see the detrimental effect it had on the team, now you have an injury to kobe, and I don't think kobe will make the same mistake, Kobe has learned through Shaq's mistake.

Shaq made a mistake by getting sick, having three doctors arguing over which procedure would be best for him??
Unfortunately, it took longer than we hoped, Shaq came in out of shape, but that had little or nothing to do with the rest of the Lakers unable to hit open jumpers. They dug the hole that Shaq and Kobe had to dig them out of.
Kobe, on the other hand, came out ready to distribute the ball, and he had to change his strategy because they couldn't hit those same jumpers.

Kobe already stated he would be as quick as possible with this. but wouldn't it be funny if Kobe came to camp fat and Shaq was ripped...That would be Ironic...

Thank you... It's not his fault the opinions of other doctors had a lot to do with Shaq not hittin the room faster than we hoped. But the point is, is that he's not the WHOLE team, nor was it his fault that the rest of the squad wasn't able to produce. That just shows how much we need him in the lineup, and how much our team needs to improve with Shaq on the bench.

bottom line is that we need to surround ourselves with better players

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Exactly, with Kobe out this should be even more of an incentive for Kupchak to make some major moves. Payton could certainly carry the load for Kobe in case he isn't ready come the start of the season.

Again, this injury is the topping to the cake. The cake from hell that is! We can't have a worse season than last, so I garantee this is a blessing in disguise... Hopefully this will give Kupchak more encouragment to get the Gary Payton's or Gilbert Arenas's...

If you think back, it was thought that the Lakes would be able to at least sustain when Shaq wasn't there. They proved us utterly wrong, then they went through the season showing us how much they did not improve. Kobe was ready. Everybody else was either too complacent or just not getting the job done. Did someone exchange Samaki's hands for clubs over the offseason??
Shaq's mouth is getting him into way more trouble than his playing ever did. Look at some of the games where the Lakers lost only because noody but Shaq and Kobe showed up.....
