Shaq says "Anthony Mason may come too"

I think last season we were obviously missing hungry players," O'Neal said. "And we just signed two starving players.

"Did I tell you Anthony Mason might be signing with us today, too?" he added. "That's going to be a lot of beef. No more Hack-a-Shaq.

Do you think that would be a good thing?

No... We need to get a center, but getting Mason might secure that center. But I would much rather see Horry back, over Mason.

We need to get Piatkowski, and some center.

"I think last season we were obviously missing hungry players," O'Neal said. "And we just signed two starving players."

"I'm not going to talk about Sacramento, because I've been hard on them in the past," O'Neal said. "But San Antonio's window is shut. That's right, the Diesel is back."

"Hey, they had a great year. It was their turn. Congratulations. That's all right," O'Neal added, before breaking into a singsong voice, " 'Cause they don't got two 7-footers anymore."

Gotta love the big guy
"Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." - Kevin Garnett

I'm just getting excited about the upcoming season by just reading those words by Shaq.

By reading it, you can feel the determination in his words.

Too bad for the league that a sleeping giant has just woke up. It doesn't matter now what the other teams do, because the ONE THING that the rest of the NBA feared has just returned..........

........A healthy and determined Shaq.

ANTHONY MASON! Are we seriously going for an All-Star team? I know he's not considered an All Star, but he's a key role player and he might be able to grab some boards for us and get physical.

Finally will we get a hungry, physical PF? (besides Malone)

I would get a combination of two players.

Horry and Piatkowski

or

Mason and Piatkowski

This way we get another PF in the lineup and with Piatkowski we get an experienced sharp shooter in the court to stretch the D.

I know confidently that Kobe, Devean, and D-Fish can hit the 3. But at times, just like the Spurs series they weren't hitting them.

Pargo I know can hit it, but he has to prove it to me in a consistent basis.
From what I saw last year Ruch can't hit a 3 consistently.

We need a Piatkowski that can consistently hit the 3.

It's terrible... I want Anthony Mason to come, but I don't want Horry to go... we're almost getting TOO good now... damn...

we do need a backup center, but if we get Pik, i think well be set

1. Payton, 2.) Fish 3.) Pargo 4.) Kobe 5.)Rush 6.) Devean 7.) PIK 8.)Luke Walton 9.) Cook 10. ) Malone 11.) Shaq 12.) BACKUP CENTER? INJURED LIST: Foxy

i really do think that rush will step it up this year and be a spark off the bench with fish and hopefully PIK (we need a reliable 3 point shooter -- we cant rely of fish to give us the 3's every game cause he wont)

I hope we go after Piatkowski next, then see what Horry is willing to do, then go after a center...

If we get Horry I will be a VERY happy little Laker fan, then if we get Piatkowski, I will be even HAPPIER. And if we get neither, I look over and see Payton and Malone on the roster and im HAPPY again...

Guys, Mason is not coming, I think Shaq is just messing. Mason is on contract for another 2 years with the Bucks for about 11 million over 2 years. We obviously can't just sign him, and I refuse to believe that we'd trade anyone we have in combination to equal Mason's salary. That would have to be like Fisher and George, or Fox and Fisher. Doubt that will happen.

here's how we look with Mason and Pike:

PG: Payton/Fisher/Pargo
SG: Kobe/Pike/Rush
SF: George/Walton/Fox (IR)
PF: Malone/Mason/Cook
C: Shaq/Slava

I think that's good enough... damn... it's beautiful. We can always get Slava or Cook to play backup Center...

wait Mason is under contract? is there anywhere that shows his status? I don't think we'll trade for him at all... the only guy I could possibly see going is Fisher if this is true.

If Mason is under contract as reported, then lets not bother with him.

Lets get Horry and Piatkowski and we are set.

Afterwards, I'll go to Colorado and invite this chick to LA. I'll say I'm from American Idol to convince her to come.

I'll say that the rehearsal is in Staples Center. (She's probably dumb enough to fall for it.)

Then I'll invite all the gang members in LA. 18th Street Gang is good enough or is it 8th street??

Then I'll watch and see how long she will last!!!!!

Go to hoopshype.com guys, and click on salaries on the left hand menu. That gives a lot of good info about contracts and stuff.

There's probably gangs on 8th street and 18th street. But just give her to Tyson, that'd be enough punishment.

our backcourt is set, we can only have a 12 man roster and 1 on the injured list (i think, might be 2) but htis is the lineup we need and were almost there

PG- Glove, Fishy, Well's Pargo
SG- Kobe Monster, Gold Rush
SF- Dev, Pik(if not Pik, then another sharp shooter), Luke Skywalker
PF- Mail, Chef (<< this is Cook)
C- Diesel, Stanalsav or Mark the Maddog Madsen

This is 13 people on the roster so someone clear up if we can have 2 people on IL or just 1.

IL- Foxy Brown
