Short list of players who fit within Lakers disabled player

Hey all,

Short list of players who fit within Lakers disabled player exception

Surprisingly just seven names on the list – but it’s important to note any player making the minimum can be acquired without the Lakers sending any salary back – without using the disabled player exception.

I'd welcome Telfair or Webster with open arms.

Not that the Suns or Wizards respectively would give them up for no reason, but definitely I'd love those guys.

Telfair would be great but I don't see us rolling with 5 PG's this season. I'd take Webster.

Can anyone post? I can't get in the LA Times site.

Just cut off one of our useless guys and add a guy who's worth a few cents. :man10:

The thing is, neither of those teams have any reason to just give us those guys. Unless they're looking to shed salary I guess?...

^ Yeah I really don't see a reason why they'd give them up, and there's likely no rush in trying to shed a salary just worth over $1 million. That's a bargain for these type of role players.

No doubt. I'd love to have Telfair over all of the backups we have. But we'd still have to pay a guy we cut so it isn't going to happen. How is it that we have so many mediocre/scrubby backup 1's. It's a glut. Man I wish Sessions would have been willing to stick it out here and work with Nash as a mentor. That would have been sweet.

I'd been saying it ever since Nash came here. I was so disappointed when his agent released the statement "we won't be coming back" RIGHT after Nash signed... My immediate thought would have been "whoa! I kind of want to stay now!"

Such a mistake by that young man.

Telfair would be great if we can get rid of Duhon or Morris. With Blake back, hopefully we can get rid of them both.

Webster would be a better choice. I mean since Ebanks is apparently invisible to Dantoni. Webster may do a better job backing up SF/SG.

Dajuan Blair has been a player I thought played extremely well on the boards and on O. Not sure why he never got out of Pop's dog house.

Hasn't he regressed the last couple of seasons? He is after all a 6'6" center.

Martell Webster would fill our biggest need at backup SF.

Blair and Johnson would be my next two off the list.

Josh Harrellson comes to mind for me, he was released by Miami last month I believe. Big, strong C/PF who will hustle, rebound the hell out of it and can hit the three. Played well for MDA in NY and played good in the minutes he got for MIA early in the season, it's just that they opted for their small ball. He isn't a star by any means, but I think he could help our bench w/ Jordan Hill gone for the year and Howard's nagging injuries. I'd snatch him up in a heart beat if I were Mitch.

Because, people still wanna believe he's the player who commanded attention in high school. Sadly he is not a everyday player hes a i can get hot as long as you dont rely on me player.

And yet he's better than any PG we have not named Nash.

Or at least better than Morris and Duhon.

telfair 7.5p 3.5a 1.6r
duhon 6.6p 4.5a 2.3r
blake 6.9p 3.9a 2.1r

That's their career averages.

This season Telfair:
6.1p 2.5a 1.5r in 17.7 minutes

This season Duhon:
3.4p 3.3a 1.7r in 20 minutes

This season Blake:
n/a he hasn't played enough and I specifically pointed out that Blake might be better than him.

so why add another marginal player if he's not even better then all of the scrubs we already have at PG?

I just showed that he is better :man10:

He's better than Duhon and he's certainly better than Morris. I had no idea people would be so against improving the end of the bench. :man10:

I would take Telfair, as long as we could dump Morris or Duhon. Sure his numbers aren't spectacular, but situation matters too, his game could pick up here like it does for many role players. Not saying I want him here now, but I certainly wouldn't turn the opportunity to get him down. As far as Webster goes, one play doesn't make you dumb, the guy is known for one play, kind of unfair. Hair doesn't make you dumb either, it's just hair.

But you also said youre not sure if hes better than blake....why bring another pg if hes not for sure better than our best whos already an avg pg as is. Telfair shooting left alot to be desired during our gm against them.
