No matter how devastating it is to see Kobe injured like this (enormously so), I can't fully blame MDA or say he should be fired for this. It was Kobe who deemed it, and I quote, "necessary", and it was him who wanted to be out there, making sure he was givin his all in order to get to the playoffs. He wouldn't have it any other way, he wouldn't have been able to STAND the idea of potentially missing the playoffs because he'd been resting in some games.
Not saying MDA doesn't hold ANY of the blame, but regarding THIS particular (and devastating) problem, I don't think it's fair to put 100% of it on him.
His defensive "adjustments" should've gotten him fired though. And that (getting better defensively) would've led to Kobe playing less minutes...
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.
