Bump... just for the LOLZ :man9: I know we have Nash now but this thread was "stupid" from the start. If viktorkain is still coaching in HS, he should just quit and make this kids a favour :man9:

Better title, "Cut Darius Morris". Seriously, do it yesterday. He does everything bad or mediocre, he doesn't do a single thing well. I saw potential in him last season, but I see zero growth this year and in a three or four year college player that's not good. This thread really is a picture of how pathetic we were at PG last season more than anything else.

Actually, he's not. He makes Blake look like Steve Nash.

The title of this thread:

I am surprised some of you guys saw "potential" in this kid last year. All I saw was a guy playing like a headless chicken.....running around aimlessly on the court.

^ I was one of those guys.

Basically what I think happened: Teams didn't know what Morris was capable of in the first few games, so they respected him to a degree. He had the space to fire off some neat-but-still-pedestrian no look passes and got all of us to LOL all about it here on CL. But then teams realized he is garbage, and now they're smothering him out of the league.
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

It's a shame that we are wasting space in him. He's not worth it and we already have three other point guards, all better than Morris. There are some non-guaranteed guys who would be more useful (I'd rather have Sacre, Somogyi, DJO or CDR)

The potential I saw was probably mainly because our other PGs were so bad that I saw little things in him that he did better than those other guys. I saw good handles, quickness, an ability to get into the lane and the basket, decent passing ability, but these things probably mainly looked good by comparison to Fisher and Blake. In reality he just isn't good enough right now, he seemingly made little to no improvement since we drafted him. I thought if he could learn to play under control and put those natural PG skills to use, put that NBA size to use, that he could be a decent backup. It just hasn't happened to this point though, and I don't think it's going to, because although it seems he's put in the work, he can't put it together on the court in actual games.

Didn't catch the whole game tonight but i'm not a fan of him. Plays with his head down, crab dribbles too much, and despite being pretty fast, he has a terrible first step and struggles getting by his man. I'm still scratching my head as to why management gave him a two year deal.

He's just not an NBA player.

I was one who thought he had potential. But after another year and no improvement? You're fast, how can you not find an open man? ummm cause you dribble with your head up your donkey hole!

This.

Yesterday was a terrible showing for him which isn't good considering how much work he apparently put in this off-season.

I'm sure he's a nice kid, but it's time to part ways.

Actually he showed flashes of good play in Summer League. One game he went 9/9 or something from the field. He looked like he might have progressed enough to show that potential in the NBA. But yesterday he quelled all thoughts of improvement.
