Can't be worse than Dfish or Blake. Those guy's are horrible. I love Fish but he needs to retire and I've never been high on Blake, ever.

Title is a little misleading, I thought he actually said that, which I wouldn't mind one bit.

What is confusing in this situation, besides playing Fish and not giving this guy any PT, is that they are putting him on the inactive list as a rookie and he has to sit and watch the games in a suit. All they are doing is haulting his development in the league, I mean what the hell, I get maybe watching the game is good for him, but honestly what would he do that would be worse than what we have seen so far from Fish? Put him down to the D-League, which would still tick me off, to get some run or play him and get him some run, so maybe just maybe he turns the corner and becomes a legit PG for this team. He's just rotting on the bench and that is a no no in my book.

Also, look at the upside here. Besides the clutch shots, every so often, what more does Fish offer on the court? He is passed his last legs, and is hurting the team being on the court. Morris at least has upside, potential, definitely has youth and athleticism and is an upgrade at this point than what we have.

Bottom line - Morris plays we see what he's got, if he does good, great we have a PG, if not send him to the D-League to work on his game, but sitting him in street clothes is just slowing the learning process for the young man and its not right.

I've been making the same point in other threads that you just made: we have nothing to gain by continuing to play Fisher. He's the worst PG in the league now, and he's at an age where he's just getting worse by the minute. Since we're talking about THE worst, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by letting Morris play, since he's at an age where he's constantly improving. He can't do worse than Fisher, and he'll only get better. But the only way he gets better is if we play him. The sooner we play him, the faster he'll develop.

This is similar to the situation when Phil played stuck with Kwame/Smush when he should've been playing Bynum/Farmar and letting them learn. We're going to need our young guys to be as a good as possible as soon as possible, so just throw them into the fire. They can't be any worse than the guys they're replacing.

IMO, they're trying to keep him "off the market", if you know what I mean.

We're playing too terrible not to find out what he can do for us.

I'm with you. What can we loose at playing him. It can't be worst than it is now.

Need youth. Get rid of the oldies. Luke and Fish are on the roster just to get paid. I'd prefer cheap, young, hungry and energetic players over old, satisfied, unmotivated, and overpaid veteran players.

I can't believe how horrible Fisher was last game, especially closing out the second quarter. I am pretty sure he had a blocking foul, let his man blow past him for a layup, and then charged, all in about a minute.

Holy cow, that last pass at the 4:05 mark went through 4 defenders!

Morris is just not ready right now. We could trot him out as the guy....but be prepared to lose some games while he learns on the job.

Even though he is a rookie and will make those rookie type mistakes I'd still much rather have him on the court than Fisher. Fisher is absolutely worthless for us right now, he can't even hit the open shot anymore.

The most embarrassing one was when he tripped over his own feet, lost his dribble, got it swiped by Evans and gave up the easy bucket the other way.

Morris isn't ready yet, but I believe we will see him tonight. We've just about killed Fisher off with the extended minutes so far....

Fisher wasn't a good point guard 8 years ago in this type of offense. His deficiencies were well disguised by the Triangle. He is now embarrassing himself unfortunately trying to be something he never really was. He is giving 100% effort and I can't fault him for that.

Blake has been up and down (story of his career so far) and he isn't starting material on any other team except ours. It's time for him to get the nod over Fisher and I think by the end of the week we will see this change IMO. Morris isn't ready and we don't have minutes for him to really learn unless we are going to completely bench Fisher which I don't think is in the cards.

I think Morris will be on the roster for a week or two as insurance until we get over this insane initial schedule then he will go to the developmental league for some actual playing time.

I would prefer Darius right now and I'm one of Derek's biggest fans. I love that guy for what he's done for this franchise, but the guy is just straight done.

i love D-Fish and what he has done for the team and the Lakers Franchise, and i even said before the first game v Bulls that he should start for now and make Blake earn the spot.....

well, even after 2 games, my feelings have changed. The worst thing is Blake is still playing 50/50 basketball too (good one game/average at best the next), so what are the Lakers and Mike Brown to do....? Prob take a chance on D-Mo and give the kid a chance to see how he goes at true NBA level. Right now its not much of a gamble

Not complaining about the intangibles Blake/Fisher are bringing us, but Kobe needs help from another ball handler and playmaker. Can we get this guy some burn? Not alot. Just a little. I don't care if he's a rookie. Watching the way our PG's play, and noting their styles, it's so obvious that Morris is actually the best pure PG we have. Dump Luke to the IR and activate Morris already.

Don't know if Morris is ready, but I love the music on the video. Anybody that can mix the band ABBA and basketball is alright with me...

Maybe now that Bynum is back, there will be some sense of urgency with Morris. I doubt it though. Brown isn't going deep to the bench as is, and I think Blake is playing well. There is no way Fisher is going to be benched either. So there just aren't minutes.

Then why not send him to the D-League? What's the point of just sitting him in a suit behind the bench, while Luke Walton gets to suit up with the chance to play. They need to at least see what he's capable of in real game time action or he is just going to rot behind the bench all season.

Morris isn't ready. The reason Blake and Fisher are getting the minutes is due to the fact that they are viable 3 point threats. Morris has to be able to stretch the defense if he wants any minutes. he's not worth much to us if he can't knock down Kobe's kick outs.

Well when he was given the opportunity to shine in the preseason he did. His shots weren't always great, but they went in. He was effective.

I'm not happy with the fact that he won't get a chance here. If Devin could get a chance, there's no reason Darius shouldn't get one either. Fisher has tenure, that's really all there is to it, and Blake has been playing well. I think Brown feels like we have enough guys that can fill in guard positions and not enough potential size which means Walton gets to suit up.
