The article is from September 11th... I doubt it's still relevant.
FWIW:
I took a little portuguese in HS.. The title of the article Revgen posted says exactly:
"Leandrinho (Barbosa) says he's willing to take the NBA's minimum salary to play for the Lakers".
It says that he's also considering the Nets and the Suns. If neither option pans out, he could return to Brasil and play there.
Translation (loosely paraphrased, some things are tough to translate exactly) of Barbosa's quote:
"The negociation is still hot. Nash sent me a message yesterday (that would be September 10th) telling me to go play with them. I replied that I would have to call my agents. During the London Olympics, the idea was even hotter and I got to talk to Kobe. Now, for me to go there, the Lakers need to get rid (he didn't say it like that, it was nicer but the idea is the same) of a guard (to open up a roster spot and get him his minutes). Playing there would be worth taking the minimum".
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.
