Thanks for everything Steve
He always played with 110% out there every night and i respect him for that, but it's just time to move on, i'm glad that he is going to Golden State, they have great team and i'm sure he will be great backup for Curry, i wish him the best.

Just heard the trade. Who are Brooks and Bazemore? Are they any good.

Good luck Blake!!!

Didn't Brooks have one good year with the Nets, his rookie campaign then nothing much after? They even were reluctant to add him in a dwight deal?

I'm going to really miss Blake. If Nash would just RETIRE we wouldn't be in this situation. Blake "carried" the team when Kobe went down with the Achilles. A consummate professional, killer instinct, noble virtues, and honestly gave this team an edge.

We got lucky and discovered Marshall, and he becomes expendable. But I enjoyed every time he stepped on the court (except when he was a 2 next to Nash or Marshall). Good luck Steve. You can make a difference in the Bay and I hope the Warriors succeed with your tutelage.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Golden State's Bazemore and Brooks are on the way to the Lakers as part of the Blake deal, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Brooks is an expiring K of 1.2M and probably won't stick past this summer, unless for cheap.
Bazemore is making 700K and is a restricted FA this summer.

Why did we take 2 awful players, I thought we were trying to shed salary and keep spots open? Can they be waived or are they expiring or something? Anyway, I'm don't think Blake will be bummed for long, he just went from the worst team in the West to a playoff team.

Brooks is decent. Nothing special at this point but he is young and can score.

We got 2 SG's who expire at the end of the season. Kobe might be calling it a season?

Good luck Steve, you always played hard for this team. I'm sure you'll contribute somewhere else.

I assume that is a serious question, so I'll answer it: no. Bazemore plays some D, that's all.

Brooks career numbers, his minutes and points have gone down and down every single season. Then again, whatever, we've made so so players look good here and we are tanking anyway.

Dude this was not a move to improve. It was a move to get under the tax. Once you accept that, the deal is fine.

I just remember that Brooks was compared to Kobe before draft, he have some great moves, don't be surprised when he get his minutes, and Bazemore, i don't know much about him, but this deal was good by Mitch.

Money saving deal, I'm all for it. We are a long way from contention, so keeping a veteran backup PG makes no sense when we can build towards the future. Good trade.

@KBergCBS: Trading Blake saves the Lakers about $3.5 million on their luxury tax bill, with more savings on the way if Jordan Hill is moved.

I don't get the math, not sure I ever will, but I guess this does indeed save us money.

Any deal where we shed salary is a good deal. Except that, for Pau and Hill, we would still like a pick to improve our team with some young talent.

Goodbye Blake. Thou shalt be missed.
On the other hand, I hope he does well with GSW. And welcome Brooks and Bazemore. I give this trade a solid, B.
