Steve Blake Discussion: Traded To Warriors

I am glad Steve had the balls to take the shot. He was wide open and it was probably the cleanest look we were going to get.

Didn't think he had a bad game tonight. Last shot was mehh....if he makes it amazing, if not, well I wasn't surprised.

Really hope we get rid of him in the offseason. We need more scoring off the bench and that's an understatement. We literally have no one in the second unit that can score consistently.

+1.

Blake isn't even good enough to come off the bench.

Kobe deserves the blame tonight, but so does Blake. If you're a pro taking a wide open 3 from the shortest spot on the floor....you gotta hit that. Still it was a good look and I can live with that.

Its those unforced turnovers that really bother me though. What exactly was the rush in passing Kobe the ball when they were so close to half court and Kobe was just about straddling the sideline?

yup the pass to Kobe was bad as well, but at least he was playing better than Sessions LOL

That was a good find by Ron...good shot, it was wide open. Blake just didn't make it. Make or miss league, right?

I don't blame him, it was a ballsy shot to take. Don't be scared to shoot it next time either.

I actually don't feel too bad. At least they know they can beat them. They just have to do it. These back to back home games will be brutal on the old legs.

been a zero this playoffs except that 19pt game 7.

lakes need players who are good in the playoffs...dont really care about the reg season. both our pg's were decent in the reg season but terrible in the post.

Like most here, when Blake took that shot the first thing that crossed my mind when it left his hand was, we're down 2-0. I would never expect him to make that shot in that situation.

The problem the Lakers have is, now that Fish is gone, we can't win a game where we need a bucket on the final shot. Kobe will be triple teamed and no one else can make that shot. Heck, I have more faith in Kobe shooting against a quadruple team blindfolded than anyone else having a wide open jumper.

I thought it was a bad shot because it was a lower percentage 3 point shot when we didn't need it.

If it wasn't Kobe, I would have prefered Bynum or Gasol to shoot a closer shot, and with the hope of the other fighting for a tip in.

On the other hand, what else is one supposed to do when you get the ball and is that open? Wasn't Blake's fault that the ball was dropped in his hands.

Should have told RON specifically to force the ball to either Kobe, Bynum or Gasol.

I’m satisfied that he didn’t hesitate. Caught it. Squared up. Let it fly. Had it been Luke Walton, he would have tried to dump it inside as the clock expired. Some guys want the moment and Blake tried to seize it.

It was open. He manned up and fired away. He should have hit it... if this was our year. He missed. It's not.

If Fish were playing OKC would have had a 12 point lead going into the last 2 minutes.

with fisher gone, kobe is the only one that should ever take the final shot even if hes covered by 4 people and just contributed greatly to choking away a 7 point lead

In Jordan's defense, I do recall him hitting a few buzzer beaters as a Laker, and he did hit a game winning 3 for the Nets this season.
