Nash... I love your heart, but please listen to Father Time. It's over.

^^ This. While it sounds like blasphemy or "hating" or whatever to say about an HOF player, but I really dread seeing Nash return. I want him to hang it up. The team plays much better at this point with Blake as the starting PG. And Farmar is perfect as the bench PG because we kick up the tempo. I don't see where a 39 year old Nash with nerve/back issues fits any more. He wasn't even a shell of his former self. He couldn't run the offense effectively and he couldn't shoot any more. How is that going to change any time soon?

Wow...After looking at Farmar's stats you posted in the other thread, I see no need for Nash provided Blake stays healthy...

Well I thought Steve Blake was balling and playing really well. Until I read rydjorker121's updated scouting report on him last night. Not that he said he wasn't playing really well. It's just that some of the sophisticated analysis he uses and some of the modern metrics and what they mean go flying right over my head. I'm still not clear what player "usage" is. Got the impression some of the "appearance" of all his great play of late is not all it seems to be. Because of Dan's system artificially inflating numbers and the fancy analyses showing something a bit different. Not understanding all that I'm just going to go with my lyin' eyes. :what: :man11:

 For those great reports. Not his problem, it's mine. Loved how much he loved Farmar's game now.

Last 10 games from Farmar/Blake combined (One game Nash played 13 minutes throws off numbers a tad) .....

52 mpg / 21 ppg / 6 rpg / 14 apg / 38% 3pt / 28 EFF

Opponents PG's during that time

49 mpg / 19 ppg / 6 rpg / 10 apg / 29% 3pt / 20 EFF

So many people hated on this guy but he has the same heart that Kobe plays with.... This guy is playing with a hyper extended elbow on his shooting arm. He couldn't even shoot with his right hand at practice. This is my last bump of the day :man1: but my man Blake 13pts. 10 ast. 3rbs. Add to that he was all up in Isiah's butt in the second half.

Way to go White-Mamba :jam2:

He's always had heart, doesn't mean he didn't deserve the "hate" (if saying somebody is playing terribly even is hate) to start the season, he sucked. He was pretty mediocre since he first came to LA a few years ago as well, he's only recently looked like the PG we thought we were getting years ago. So yeah he looks great now, but I'm not gonna apologize for criticizing his play for years, just like I wouldn't for criticizing Meeks last season. I love how he's playing though, it's been pretty much fantastic, so much so I don't want Nash to come back.

I'm looking forward to how he performs when Kobe returns. He won't be the ball dominance that he is this season.

This is the offense for Steve Blake plain and simple. Open floor, lots of shooters, lots of control.

The Triangle was a disaster for him. Brown was equally a disaster. But when you add a few athletic guys, a few shooters, and give him control he's looked great. Not to mention having more than him as a perimeter defender makes him look a lot better. He's not consistently over-matched.

Absolutely. Blake got totally lost in the Triangle. And let's not even mention the "Princeton" stuff... ugh.

He's a smart PG, who takes care of the ball and is constantly probing. He is unselfish and will often make the right pass. Plays hurt -- and still gets results. MDA definitely extended his career.

Steve Blake looks more pissed in his post game interview than I've ever seen, wow he was fuming. He was giving Ireland on sentence answers, a lot of "I don't know" and angry blank stares.

My guess is because he went from awesome PG to spot up shooter, we lost, and Ireland asked about his 4 turnovers.

I love this guy. He isn't happy and he doesn't smile off games we should of won. I really think with Kobe back Black needs to move to running the second unit. Bring Jodi Meeks back in as the shooter and let Blake do what he should be doing running a team.

Blake had every right to be upset. He should be handling the PG Duties. Point Blank. There's no reason for Kobe to handle the bulk of ball-handling when Blake has played good basketball. This responsibility falls on our head to sort these things out...and, unfortunately, MDA just thrive in player relational skills.

I get that he's the Blake Mamba, but I doubt the death stare works on Ireland.

Seriously though, why so mad, Steve?

Yep. This Steve Blake as a SG idea should have been killed a long time ago. It does not work offensively or defensively.

I would of thought. Let Blake or whoever is pg handle the ball. Kobe should either spot up. Cut to the basket. Post up if it comes to it. But Blake is a pg and he's been ok to good at it. Let him do his job and it'll make moves easier
