Don't expect Adam Silver to do anything better. He's just as bad as Stern, if not worse.

Between this, Nash, Farmar and now Pau/Pringles boiling over, I really think it's time to cut bait and tank for high pick.

One whole month without a legitimate, NBA-level PG. That's 15 games where we start off at an automatic disadvantage against ANY team we play.

Those 15 games:
Utah
Denver
@ DAL
@ HOU
@ LAC
Cleveland
@PHO
@BOS
@TOR
@CHI
@MIA
@ORL
@NYK
Indiana
Charlotte

I wouldn't be surprised honestly to lose every game. I think if we're lucky we can go maybe 3-12 or so. 5-10 would be extremely optimistic at this point.

^^^ March will be the death blow that sends us into the lottery for good.

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose 35-40 more games this season. The West is tough and with our roster even the cake walk games of the past have no become a struggle.

Any wins we get from here on out honestly will be a surprise to me. :man10:

We could conceivably finish the season with a 25-57 season if Kobe doesn't come back and our PGs keep playing musical chairs.

I hope he comes back before trade deadline, he really does need to get traded. I'm glad he had good start to the season, maybe we can still salvage some value out of him. I'd be happy even with an early 2nd rd pick for him at this point. Never have I seen a player like Blake who just finds ways to get the most weirdest and most random type of injuries ever.

The best we can do is find a team looking to take him off our hands via a trade exception. Golden State is currently looking for a veteran backup guard. Blake's contract fits Brandon Rush's trade exception. If we can move him and Kaman out, we'll be able to get under the lux tax threshold.

With our current record, the post season is already pipe. No way we can get 33+ wins in 45ish games remaining.

Expect much line up experimentation for LAL with all the guards coming back at once. Blake is the most versatile (can play 1 or 2).

It irks me that people that cover the Lakers for their job don't know that Blake can't play the 2. Do you not watch the games?

I wouldn't blame Mike Trudell for that. It seems like our last few coaches haven't been able to learn this either.

I would definitely play Blake at the 2. A lot. Him and Meeks. :man9:

Blake CAN play the 2, anyone CAN be stuck at any position, doesn't mean they should do it or can do it well. :man10: Lame jokes aside, I think these reporters just say threes things because they see them happen, like Blake does play the 2 so he must be able to, nevermind how unsuccessful it is. That or they're company men like Trudell and Ireland and just fall in line with their comments. But yeah, I'm with karacha, start Blake at the 2 with Nash, if you're trying to tank that will get it done, the defense will be god awful. Nash can't play it, and while Blake can, he can't guard many SGs.

Trudell's a company guy...I don't think I've ever heard or read anything by him remotely critical of the Lakers.

This is where I miss Chick the most...dude would shred into the Lakers if warranted.

Stu does it from time to time and both Worthy and Magic are capable of it, but Chickie was the voice of Laker fans...you can pretty much believe in anything that man said.

Nash will only last 2-3 games. But with Blake/Meeks at the 2, we'll be really bad defensively. That's a safe way to tank right there. Nash would help us tank more then Marshall, but I am really not sure if he can it sustain it at all.

Blake at the SG position is just asking for trouble, never mind the defense (which is atrocious to begin with), but you increase the chance of injuring yourself by guarding bigger players and exerting yourself in doing so.

As for Nash, dude is beyond useless now and is just taking minutes away from Marshall and Farmar. What's the point of MDA playing Nash, when he can't play more than like 10 minutes a game and can't play every game (he's not going to play in back the back games)? At best he gives us something offensively, but offense is not the concern with this team right now.

I know, but nevertheless, still frustrating to see these kinds of lineups being thrown around.

Do we really care where anyone plays this year anymore? I mean Blake at SG makes sense only because the team doesn't have anyone anymore. I mean is D'Antoni going to run Nash, Blake, Marshall & Farmar out there with a single big? Thought knowing him that is his dream lineup. Honestly at this point develop young players and lose while doing it. Playoffs aren't happening this year. Blake should be dealt to a team that is competing and get back one of many lost picks. Team needs picks at this point not wins.

One more thing...Nash should just become a coach and teach Marshall how to be a good PG. I believe that Nash helped Blake as he has been playing his best ball since Nash got here, though I guess you could also give credit to D'Antoni, but to me I saw Blake emulating Nash so I think it was actually Nash doing that. Unless of course ANY team wants him in which I say take him. Been the curse of this team since he arrived.

Well, Nash is probably working with Marshall now.

Blake needs to be traded, so he gets some important minutes on another team -- and he can certainly contribute. If we can get a pick for him that would be awesome, obviously.

Nash probably has worked with Marshall some, but I'm also not sure Nash can teach what he has, anymore than Marshall could teach what he has, it seems to be a lot of natural court vision, natural pg ability.

Are you kidding me? Let's sign this injury prone 30+ year old to keep playing SG for us. Man I hope this isn't true.

We don't need players like this going forward.
